I'm a metal guy, and I keep my mids on full blast all the time.
Other guitarists didn't exactly like that when I was playing with my old Rectos because they couldn't hear them selves with my mids on full treble and bass at 9 o clock and presence up around 1 o'clock. Now I'm using that Randall modular stuff and don't play out any more, and I bet they'd still have trouble if I were to jam with some one again!

My friend got pissed at me the other day because his bass wasn't able to cut through my sunn.
I still kept my amp on almonds, and it will always be almonds.

The best part is that one of my friends who plays bass and has an equal affection towards mids also recently found out he's allergic to almonds.

Right now I've got
all the EQ and the tone cranked on my Laney VC-15, sounds brilliant.

Normally I run it with a lot of mids and treble, less bass. My bass tone is all about mids, growly and delicious.

i have a VC30 with the low-frequency Celestion greenbacks, and have discovered that i prefer the sound with all the tone controls dimed. in my recent experience, most guitarists i've played with are way too trebly for my taste.

No mids knob. How to EQ properly, IMHO.

I change my settings every twenty minutes but I usually go / / \ with my bass, middle and treble (so like 2, 2, 10).
I leave the treble for gypsies.
