Looks like I love them more than you

Now, my band is looking for some kind of "gimmick." I hate the idea of a gimmick or just calling it a gimmick, but I do like the idea of wearing fun outfits on stage.

The year was 1978, and I was 4 years old, I saw Kiss meets the phantom of the park. I was impressed. Anyone else with a gimmick is just lame. Good bands don't need gimmicks.

I totally agree that many a foul band has gotten by on gimmickry as opposed to musicianship or song writing skills. Still though, I've seen a handful of amazing live bands that partake in said gimmicks and still fuckin' rock, no lameness to be found. Here's a couple more:
