any asshat can get that sound with any of a number of pedals and very simple picking technique. All you have to do to get nauseated on TGP is read the glowing reviews of shite products that fill page after page there. Getting a real idea about how something will sound there is practically impossible, so many hacks there.

No, no, no, it's so you can hide all the forums full of bloviating youth pastors bellyaching about the tonal dynamics of hemp vs. cotton guitar straps when playing glory hallelujah on their R9 bursts into their D* type amps at church. Pretty much the only forums I haven't hidden are the B&S forums -- I can't stand listening to those guys talk about anything. It's like being stuck on a plane with a fat boring evangelical telling you about his bowling score at the Republican convention.

Seriously...and what's the deal with John Mayer on TGP? I've never seen that much Mayer-worship in one place before, something's not right over there...Alright, so his verse in Dyrdek's "Rob's Mom" is pretty tight...but "chasing the Mayer tone"...??? I'm halfway convinced that the whole of TGP is one big troll from other forums. I know people from HM do it -- posting ridiculous threads about ridiculous corksniffery then sit back and watch as it gets 30 pages of cantankerous discussion, but how many of the responses are trolls from shortscale or here or some other forum I don't know. It's a mess though.
