I think it sounded epic, if that wasn't clear haha.

Is there anything I could substitute for The Great Destroyer? It gets pretty crazy, and seemingly uncontrollable at times, in demos I've seen haha.

Bump?

I posted the video of you recording that intro on another forum, and I got a lot of "wat." The world will soon see how awesome it sounds in context.

Our return show is on the 21st in Ft. Worth, but who knows after that! My other band is playing at J&Js on the 22nd.

Didn't read past this post. This is, for the most part, exactly how I do it as well. We are doing everything ourselves, which allows me to be incredibly obsessive about everything and not worry about paying for studio time.

Occasionally I layer the shit out of things, but I do need to make sure what's going on can at least be translated for live performance. There's one song in particular that we used to do that I ended up layering about 4 guitar parts (in addition to the other guitarist's track). Two of them were doubletracked to add some thickness and girth, one track was made to have the song pick up momentum and another was to add accents and heaviness to the downbeats. Obviously I couldn't pull all that off live, but I could get the gist of it and the drummer picked up the slack for the last two tracks by playing a little heavier on the bass drum and riding the snare drum more.
