I'd like to apologize if anyone felt like I jumped down their throat.
No one did anything wrong, or needs to apologize! I knew no one had any bad or unethical intentions, even before I spoke with them privately. And there wasn't any clearly stated rule on how far the DIY forum here should go.
I don't want to come across as telling people what they can or cant build. There are plenty of resources online for cloning anything and everything, and people should build whatever they want for personal use. (Though obviously, we encourage supporting small builders!)
My only intention is protecting some really small builders from losing designs they may have worked hard on, and may depend on financially!
I'm for as little moderation or interference as possible. It's really worked well here at ILF. No one should feel like they have to walk on eggshells in the DIY forum.
