DOD Flashback Fuzz haha. I got it almost 10 years ago and still have it. For what reason, I do not know.

No, I traded it ...

Purchased together were a DOD chorus which is long gone and a Boss DD-5, which I still use all the time. I bought it new more than 15 years ago. Here's a demo of the sample/hold with an Algal Bloom. I posted this somewhere else but I think it got lost in the shuffle.

Wow, I'm surprised no one had the Boss DS-1 as their first. It's not like you can claim that you new better, because some of those pedals are pretty nasty.

Well the DS-1 was my first, and it is long gone. I do still have my 2nd pedal, which is a Digiverb. I got it for Christmas from my girlfriend at the time when they first came out. The pedal is broken... kind of ironic now that I think about it.
Dev, my man. That is a sad, sad story. Since I live in Nashville I feel it is my duty to pitch that story as a song idea to a country music writer. Now that's a country song I would be able to relate to.

I'll even split the royalties with you.

my first pedal was a late-70s block-logo MXR Distortion+ which i bought used back around 1983. i still have it, and use it frequently. it's the first box in the distortion section of my board, where it does a nice ugly compressed Neil Young/Jerry Garcia Fender-ish thing at my typical setting of ~40% drive and excels at driving additional fuzzes. it may not be the most versatile thing in the world settings-wise, but the things it does well suit a multitude of applications...there's a reason why everybody from Bob Mould to Randy Rhodes used to use them.

First pedal I bought was an EHX Bass Big Muff Pi.
I gave it to my guitar player buddy after getting some real fuzz. Those things sounds terrible.

My first pedal, in 1994ish, was a nasty bazz fuss / Fuzz Face hybrid built for my needs by a then band friend of mine, housed in a hubcap of an old Datsun

The guy also built these Sundown / Marshall style tube preamp/overdrive units for my friends but gave up in a few years.
Combined with the old Marshall guv'nor and an all tube amp it sure was fucking heavy. I took it to him for repair after some five years of service and he never returned it me again

which is a damn shame. And the Guv'nor got stolen from stage after an apparently great sounding gig, but that's another story.
