You guys like the US that much? I was thinking about trying out a shoe gazer but maybe I'll try the US first. Doesn't seem that great from the demos

The US is great at what it does, but that's pretty much the only thing it does. It will cut through a mix like anything. I loved mine, but couldn't find a home for it in a band setting. Now, of course, I want it back.

I've been through the bit, aenima, and ruby so far. They all pretty much do one thing and hit it spot on. The shoegazer is just too damned expensive to try out. I could see picking up a new US though if it was really that good.

The ruby had manufacturing errors in the majority of the run, if you guys haven't read the devi forum. Aka it needs a capacitor clipped or modded or else it's darker than it should be.

How on earth could some thing be darker than it’s supposed to be?
Now too bright or much treble I understand.

Got my Ruby today.

Only had a quick, fairly quiet go on it (son's asleep) but I like what I've heard so far.

Welp, looks like there was an issue with the first batch of Rubies...

Maybe this is just me thinking too much like a businessman, but if you're the one that screwed up, you need to be the one to fix it. Since this is a simple solution, either offer people the option to do it themselves, or offer to have it shipped back on your dime and you'll do it. Customer service IS the only leg companies have to stand on nowadays, big or small. They need to remember that. [/rant]

That said, when I first looked at fuzzes, I was a little overwhelmed by DE's site and offerings. Again, it's just me thinking like a businessman, but why put out dozens of okay pedals over a handful of really good ones?

Well I think that it's a matter of taste what sounds okay to one, could be that sought after sound by someone else.. Or am I talking bullshit now?

I've often wondered that myself. If the difference between your fuzzes is a resistor, why not just put a toggle on it and combine them?

I've always appreciated the variety, but the lineup is getting a bit crazy lately.

I think maybe add toggles to a few, raise the price slightly...then (maybe) lower the prices slightly ($75?) on the non-toggle 2knobbers.
A ruby/tooth/90s, GZ/ZG, SM/VFM, TP/AE, ND/DN, maybe the EB/LP if it can be done (not familiar with that one).

I think that would really ease some of the trepidation most seem to have when appoaching de:fx.

I love her stuff and ....not to be a dick but since lots of her fuzzes are the same circuit why not charge a bit more and combine several into one with toggles like the modded versions... I don't get to play my ruby for another few weeks so maybe i'm overreacting but not gonna lie my confidence in devi products went down when i found out she messed up a run and was like "oh if you're smart you can fix it yourself" . Isn't that what a warranty is for? I mean I get she puts lots of effort into keeping costs down while putting cool shit out (the $50 dollar ruby,90,and hound was cool of her) but there are still things you expect of someone running a business as a "pro".

Personally I think that I would prefer to clip it myself than to pay shipping back and have to wait.

The workhorse was a bit overkill though.
A simple "mode" toggle (and/or chaos) on many of them would go a long way.
