What's going to be the basis of the Burly Buzz? Are you designing a completely new circuit or starting with the basics of an existing circuit?

It's loosely based off of the Tycobrahe Octavia. But I'm using different transistors though which change the sound quite a bit. I also have an active eq in it and there is a clean signal boost (for more output) in it also. I'm still playing around with the eq and the boost placement. You can still get that crazy octave fuzz, but you can also dial it back and get some nice crunch overdrive.

What kind of EQ are you dealing with? Is it more of a "tone" knob where there is a specific frequency that is mostly boosted? Or will you put in a Treble, Bass, and/or Mids control?

it's wonderful to have you here mr. probes!
You're Vibe sounds awesome. I need a good vibrato. I like the Boss VB-2, but i feel like the BJFe mod on it in the Rocketride Asteroids Chorus/Vibe pretty much hit the nail on the head with the sound, but that type of sound + all of your bonus ideas sounds like thats probably the vibrato pedal i'm going to be using.
oh yes i can see it now.

I'm debating about the EQ, As it stands now, it will be a bass cut/boost and a treble cut/boost. What would you like to see in it?
Thanks for checking it out! The vibe is still a long ways down the road but that's probably a good view of what it will look like. Glad you like the ideas so far.

Maybe instead of a two band EQ, you can throw in a one band parametric, with gain and freq controls. And maybe a switch for resonance.

Thanks for the input Chumley. I think I'm try out a dual gang pot which when turned counterclockwise will boost the bass and cut the treble, and when clockwise cut the bass and boost the treble. This will make it much easier for mixing the EQ for a bass or a guitar.

Ooh, if you were to have one knob control cut/boost and have another control the frequency the signal's being "tilted" around...

i thought this thread was gonna be about a new pedal builder that only builds theramin plate pedals
theremin controlled phaser
theremin controlled overdrive
theremin controlled reverb
theremin controlled vibe.
dont let vex corner the market.

Haha, hasn't been the first time that has been confused. Probes comes from my last name (Probert) my buddies have always called my Probes so I thought it had a nice little jingle to it. As for right now, I won't be doing any theramin sensors. I already has some confrontation with him on my business name so I don't need anymore word from him for a while

I love Zachy. Always good value. Anyone have a link to the Absynth fiasco?

I heard about the AB ordeal. But hey, let's leave the bashing out of this thread and talk pedals

I'd like some more input on the type of tone stacks ya'll like..
I. A single knob that is flat at 12 and boosts bass counter clock and boosts treble clockwise.
II. Dedicated Boost and Cut knobs for bass and treble
III. other (please specify)
Lay down your votes!

I prefer the first one, personally.
@Oinkbanana: Yup, that's it!
And bashing Zach is what we do here.
