You all have more than enough gear to make music. The rate at which most people here buy modular gear is (and I'm not exaggerating) at least 10 times faster than me, for example.
Getting new toys is fun but don't deceive yourselves into thinking that it's actually a necessity.
Yeah, I know, I'm no fun

I'm not saying it's wrong to buy new stuff. It's not.
Just that beyond a threshold there's not necessarily a positive correlation between getting more stuff and making more/better/etc. music.
That threshold depends on people, yes, but I'd guess that for most people with no prior modular experience it's not that high (not 36U high at least

).

Yeah that's known as the Ruiner threshold.

The Ruiner Limit, Edge of Extravagance, The Beautiful Country.

i guess they were leaked by a store and now up on ModGrid.
Contour - 4 stage envelope generator
Dynamix - non vactoral LPG
they look just like their sections from No Coast. i think?

Oh hell yeah make music. I have a daily modular date at 4 pm every day. Rules. I guess I still have 8 hp here but thinking I'll fill it with a WMD Chimera when available.

HOT. Just read up on some of the extra bells + whistles, and it seems like the BYO 0-coast might be a real nice alternative to the real thing. I really like Make Noise's designs. They seem to be extremely practical but also innovative & capable of being pushed much further than the sum of their parts.
Also all of their oscs sound fucking rad??? I've thought about getting a couple used SPOs at a much later date because they seem like they'd be fun to intermodulate. Has anyone here messed with creating a feedback loop with FM? As in taking an out from one SPO (or any osc rly) & using it to FM a second, then taking an out from that second and sending it to FM the first? With proper attenuation (maybe some kind of LFO or modulation provided to the attenuation as well???) I feel like it'd be pretty badass.
