It's the speaker from a pignose b100v which is fine but I really can't wait for the 2x15 Alex is making for me.

Re: I want a Science Amplifier
Has anyone got any clips of guitar through a Shiv? I can't remember ever hearing any in the ones that were posted.

This record is apparently all Shiv. I dont believe Alex has many guitar-only clips.AngryGoldfish wrote:Has anyone got any clips of guitar through a Shiv? I can't remember ever hearing any in the ones that were posted.

Here's a couple links Alex sent me where the Shiv is featured prominently.AngryGoldfish wrote:Has anyone got any clips of guitar through a Shiv? I can't remember ever hearing any in the ones that were posted.
http://wildones.bandcamp.com/ be patient for the guitar stuff
http://wildguess.bandcamp.com/ (Telecaster neck and minhumbucker in bridge all done on the Normal channel) - This is another one of Alex's bands btw.
I also have another clip highlighting the heavy "channel" of the Shiv but it's an MP3 attachment so I don't know how to post it here. I'd be happy to email that one your way, just PM me with your email address if you'd like it.

Re: I want a Science Amplifier
Hey everyone, here are some old samples of the Shiv I found the other day and sent to user Transient. They are of the Mk I version, which was basically just the "Normal" channel on the current version, but with different style master volume, no "Absence" control (it was hardwired at about "noon"), and with a variable boost circuit. The new version (which is what user Holy Schnikes has) is much more versatile with the power scaling and separate OD channel.
So anywho, all these are on the Normal channel at various settings and a couple different guitars. Normal channel is basically the same as the new version's Normal channel (Top Boost inspired). All samples are through a V30 loaded 2x12 cab mic'd with an SM57. I remember thinking these all sounded really bad compared to the amp in the room, but now I think they are what they are... close mic'd SM57 solo tracks

This one's also mostly Shiv and a Strat: http://yourrival.bandcamp.com/album/heres-to-me
Thanks for the interest and support everyone, and happy to answer any questions.

Re: I want a Science Amplifier
Thanks for asking. Not sure yet about doing anymore combos, it just depends if there's enough interest. I really hesitate to do anything too big because the weight will just be too impractical for most people. I think a 2x12 50W Hellhawk would be cool and a reasonable weight. That amp is Plexi inspired, so not too dissimilar to a Bluesbreaker (only with ceramic speakers). I don't have any pictures just yet, but I like to pair the Street Sweeper with a matching open back 2x12 loaded with Eminence EM12s, which are their EVL12M type speaker. Those have huge magnets and cast iron frames, and so a pair of those in a combo would make it at least 20lbs heavier than a Twin! Thanks for asking, and I'm always open to suggestions. Next on my design wish list is a single channel high gain amp for the metalheads.

That's a good price! Would hit if I could. Would most def HIT!
Think that's the same guy who demoed his EGC Bass VI thru that Hellhawk on Youtube earlier this year. Then sold the EGC shortly thereafter.

Played a hellhawk last night with feuding fathers. It's amazing. Really light. Also loud. I want it.
