Can the Black Forest do a low gain, dark, gritty thing? Any demos that demonstrate that?

yup. mine is in b/s/t because of too much gas. but it is a superb pedal.

Love that video whk but mostly because of the really tasty noodling. I really would have enjoyed just listening even if it is had been though a smokey. But, yeah the BF is amazing.

so the plan is having a booster, Fuck OD, Black Forest and Fix'd Fuzz, booster pimping ODs up, ODs flavouring Fix'D Fuzz up... might not work, but at least i get to try the Black Forest :)

hmmm, i'm not really sure what exactly your taste is - you flipped to much in the last one and a half year ;)
but the Black Forest is flexible and i'm pretty sure you will dig it :thumb:

What should i say... i'm not either :D there's so much to try... but the main question is "is this gonna work in the band situation?" and with Pharaoh, i'm not sure.... not in my band situation, i guess

You'll soon find out. (Black Forest is incredibly versatile.)

haven't tried it in band on high volume, but it seems to be really great :) i put it everywhere i could, but it really sounds the best before Fuck - boosting Fuck OD resolves in some SERIOUS heavy toans with both pedal's gain just after noon :)

just to clarify though - the gradually dying out high sizzle is common with all of them?

btw: pretty damn heavy and awesome palmmuted with the gain on full ;)

except that it doesn't take wah very well

are you putting it pre-wah or post-wah? i have mine post with my RMC-2 and love it. You'll love it with the band too - very quiet at idle!

The BF does not have the long sustain that some pedals have - so that dying is common. It's long enough - but if you are going for a drawn out note/chord, stack another on or use another pedal.

the BF is VERY dynamic - actually the MOST dynamic on my board - one of the reasons i love it. Palm muting FTW!

Post wah and i've got a heavy right hand, so it seems to choke sometimes

there's some high end sizzle that just dies out gradually after i let a chord ring... hard to explain, but it's there... i guess it's just part of its charm :)

i'll see how will it sound in a rehearsal, so far i think it's a damn awesome overdrive :)

yeah they have that gravely decay. you can tame it by rolling the highs back somewhat.

OK, put it after my fuck, set it for high-ish gain, less highs... sounds better :) also it did good in bedroom test of my songs, so let's wait for the high volume situation...

Buy another one. Put one pre Fuck and one post Fuck. Win.
