i think the one i liked the most was X, even if it got a little Gainaxy/First Hulk Movie at the end.
i don't think there's a port of that yet tho.
I LOOK FOR 8.

This game was released right when I had to have my wisdom teeth out. Played the heck out of it, but it's real easy compared to the original. Expanded content is great, although tedious. Doesn't it take like 2 hours of going up like 100 floors just to get to the boss that gives you Ragnarok? I was loaded on percocets during the entire play-through so my time perception was off.
FFV GBA and FFVI GBA are 2 of the best ff ever released...but my vote for all time favorite, even beating out the originals...goes to FFIV DS. Bought a ds lite just for it. Cost of admission was worth it for that alone, but also the Castlevania AOS sequel Dawn Of Sorrow, Chrono Trigger DS, Contra 4...and also the M3 Real card, to play all the GB/GBC/GBA gems from my gaming library on the go...as well as NES emulation.
Hm. I think I just talked myself into beginning a new game in some undecided classic. I think lately I've been in the mood to play through Mother 3 again...
Retro gaming 4L.

Funniest part about that game was Seifer constantly calling Zell "Chicken-wuss".

I can't really picture playing Baldur's Gate on a touch-screen, or on anything without a mouse...the party movement seems like it'd be a pain.

it got like 6 out of 10 from most review spots. and i think it's like $20. i'd rather drop that much on a FF game than a not so good port?

I agree that BG is one of the best titles EVAR, but porting it to different iDevices may be pushing the envelope a bit too far.

I could see it working on an iPad. They'd have to make the UI take up 3/4 the screen, but it could work...

Ok so with more than a few hours into Ni No Kuni under my belt here's my impression so far:
For me, it's like playing final fantasy 9 again for the first time. But there's much more to it that, so far, it replaces the Square enix(or squaresoft and square past titles) spots in my "top 5" RPGs(Earthbound or Mother 2 is probably always going to be my number one.) I feel it's the perfect blend of N64 Zelda games, the great 16 bit RPGs of Nintendo, and FF9. The battle system is great much like final fantasy 7 and 9 wait system but with more freedom and Pokemon styling blended in. The enemies are all visible(like in chronotrigger/cross) and a lot can be avoided if that what you want. the monster(familiars) evolution is awesome, and grinding to level up isn't a huge pain. The story is a little childish but still fantastic. Graphics, I couldn't ask for more(I have a softspot for cell shading...jet set radio anyone?). No shit camera angles, in fact, I find myself angling the cameras to give it more of a cinematic view. "Side missions" are fun and fulfilling. The music drives me to play more. And the in game wizard companion book! HOLY FUCK. You can spend hours reading it and looking at the great illustrations. I have nothing bad to say about the game. I barely touched the surface of the great things about this game.
If you are a fan of any jrpg, you're missing out by not playing this. It's worth buying a PS3 if you don't own one(and MGS4 of you haven't played that)
(Edit: you can't play this on a tv smaller than 32 inches...you wont see any detail or wont be able to read some text and minor features. and if your not on the HDTV, get with the times mannnnn.)
