It depends if it's viral or bacterial. Viral will just go away on its own. Bacterial can grow into some funky shit. How long have you been coughing/phlegmy?
A week or so. I've been coughing terribly for pretty much all of it. It kept me up till 5 am or so this morning. And one day last week I was coughing so bad it caused me to nearly collapse, and start throwing up on the floor.
It has not been a fun week.
Yeah, I hear ya, I've been there. A week isn't long enough that a viral infection would have definitely cleared up yet, so it's still hard to say. But if it lasts the another week, I'd definitely go to your doctor's because you might need some antibiotics.

do i really have to say that if you're coughing so hard that you fall down on the floor and puke you should go see a fucking doctor? dead serious: viral pneumonia may "go away on its own," but by the time it does you may wish you'd died if you don't get medical attention. i had a bout of untreated viral pneumonia that half killed me in the late 80s from which i lost 20 lbs at a time when i only weighed about 138 to start with. in less than a month i went from slim-and-lively to camp-survivor, and my health was never the same (i was just turning 30 then), nor has my singing ever really been right since. GET IT TAKEN CARE OF. seriously. it could fuck up the rest of your life.

I think I'm going to. I'm trying to get myself into the habit of checkups and stuff. I come from a family that when I was growing up didn't think of doctors as something you went to other than when you were getting ready to pass away. It usually doesn't occur to me to see a doctor until and unless something gets really bad. And I tend to be somewhat oblivious to injuries, which doesn't help. The first two times I broke my left wrist I didn't notice. Didn't find out until I got an xray a couple years after for a different injury.

i still tend to be like that, and i'm kind of amazed that i've gotten away with it. the thing is, there comes a point in the lifespan of the human body when your body just won't let you get away with shit any more. things begin to break down, or to function less effectively. it's part of nature, and though it can be ameliorated to an extent, it's unavoidable. look at how hard Iggy or Jagger has to work out now in order to do what they tossed off with a leer and a cigarette when they were young and strong. it'll sneak up on you...especially if you're in the habit, which i think all young people are, of expecting that you'll be bulletproof forever, that you'll always be able to get up after a night of debauchery, have a cigarette and two cups of coffee, and say "HIT IT." i'm not saying live like a little old man...but you may save yourself some needless suffering in the future by taking care of diseases and stuff so they don't cause unnecessary damage now. those effects, like the ways i bollocked up my back working in restaurant kitchens and print shops, may not seem like much now, but they'll hurt like a motherfucker when you're 50 or 60. if i could go back, i'd have taken better care of myself when it really mattered.

a somewhat weather wave?
from muggy summer just gone to bone chill cold now
it is also playing games with my rickenbacker as the setups just gone all over the place but that may be a different issue
Did it come from the us/ not from an aussy retail store as that would probably explain it with the different climates/humidity and all. Like my acoustic freaked out when it came here and the bridge separated from the body. Supposedly larger manufacturers do special batches with temp/ humidity control when they send overseas as weird stuff happens. I could see a hollowbody being more susceptible to that.
correct im poor right now for a setup

that's one positive aspect of having long hair that clogs the drain screen; it forces me to clear it often enough that i don't get those huge Creature From The Grey Lagoon things living down there.
