sooooo.... i have an interest in Left 4 Dead. mostly from the Witch Pron i've been.... making use of.... lately.

but i don't play online really.

does it play/is it worth playing as an offline single person campaign?

Eh, the emphasis is on multiplayer play, it's not about the story or character development...basically offline is just like playing online, but with a bunch of idiot bots that'll get you or themselves killed at the drop of a hat.
All the fun is in multiplayer.
And by "fun" I mean getting yelled at or kicked by your teammates in almost every single game, and it's worse if you're new. There's no way for new players to integrate without being screamed at by a bunch of fucking nerds.
So actually the tactic I usually fall back on in that kind of situation, griefing my asshole teammates, isn't even required. Just by playing I indirectly grief them. When the planets align, you'll get a good game going and it's pretty fun for a minute, but people start quitting when they see that they're gonna lose, etc...just isn't worth it.
If the match is hectic and both teams are doing equally well, you're gonna get the inevitable nerd rage again when someone slips up.
Play online with yer friends or don't play at all IMO. Any online game where it takes half an hour to find a decent server is BUTTS.

Gaming culture and "gamers" make me hate being associated with vidja games. Without the small group of people I regularly play with, I think I woulda been done a few years ago. At least with online games.
It's like being in a band full of people you can't stand or something.
More accurately, playing online games is like being in a room full of racist, entitled, semi-autistic fucks, but you can see one or two normal people at the other end.

All that up there is why I quit on-line gaming in general...paying for the privilege of being called an incompetent asshole by a 14 year old is not my idea of a fun evening.

Yeah I really hate online gaming most of the time, except for playing coop with actual friends, or some stuff like ridiculous gmod games where everything is hilarious. Fuck dealing with people on the internet.

Planetside's nice because it's insanely impersonal. You can be in a vehicle with someone for an hour without saying a word, die, and never see that player again.

only thing i play online is CoD, and i just turn everybody off and if i'm not doing well turn into super grief dick guy. but that's even kinda boring lately. usually the new version that comes out grabs ahold of my for a month or two. i never really got into this one at all.

lol. and the first person was BOOOOOOOORINNNNNNG. usually they're silly, but short and fun.

It is. LOTS of battling, much like Pokemon except not random. But the fact that I'm playing a what's like a animated movie by studio ghilbi...it amazing. Which reminds me, anyone ever play warioland shake it? That was a blast to play. The super fluid 2d animation/game play rocked.

And there goes my Dishonored buzz. Replayed (again...) to get the Ghost/Clean Hands Title but the achievements were bugged and didn't get it. Oh well.

Going to try Far Cry 3 again, played for about 1.5h but can't get into it. But it always seems to take abit for me to snap into place and get into some games, took me ages to get into Skyrim and now I probably have a combined time of 400h+
