I have tiny ass hands (which is part of the reason I play bass primarily) but that Root-6th above looks pretty interesting. I'm gonna avoid using 'tab talk' as I'm trying to really commit to knowing, rather than 'knowing' more theory this year.

Which is incredibly useful now that I make noise all on my lonesome.

This. That's a shit sandwich, dude.

That's an enviable goal. I'd love to say that I'm going to do the same, but I'm not.

So speaking of that, one of my more favoritest things to do in my drop tuning shit is something like this 5-5-5-7-8, so you are getting the 5th and octave plus whatever it is that the 8 is doing (another 5th maybe?)

Yep yep. You would get all sorts of burned at the stake for being a heretic/witch/shithead if you even accidentally played that shit.

This /\ I got that MM red power cable with the Naki from Nick. I also have some fancy Monster cable IEC cable that I got randomly with something else, plus a couple other thicker / heavy duty IEC cables and they make absolutely no sonic difference. Reliability is what the difference is and I gotta say those MM cables are built to last, plus they are hard to lose.

I was thinking about that when I wrote the other post. Being thicker it is more durable and that is a selling point for me. I was just laughing at how much they oversell the cable.

Yeah! Our Seattle show is with Heiress and Gaythiest @ the black lodge. I don't have individual fliers, but this is the weekend thing:

Dude, what a bummer, we're playing another show in Portland the same night at a different venue. Not only would I have enjoyed hanging out and having a beer, but it's also too bad that there's competing shows of a similar type. We're playing with hallow, bell witch and ephemeros at the tonic lounge. Too bad. The know is close to my house too. It's a decent place with a good crowd for you guys. Should be good on a Friday. They have a built in crowd of sorts, so hopefully you have a good show. It's one of the more solid and long standing straight up punk/metal bars in Portland.

Just saw about your cat on FB, Christian. Mojo sent dude, that's never easy to deal with.

As for everyone else, let's see:

That's a bummer situation Summit.

Chillerthanmost - YBA-1As are fucking sweet as all hell. I sold mine to a friend who really needed an amp and I'm still always on the search for another. LOUD amp, even though it's only 2 el-34s that thing kept up with my 100 Hiwatt no problem. One of my favorite tones in an amp, almost Hi-Fi like and when it starts breaking up it just sounds soooo damn ballsy. Also, the black lodge is a really cool place. Be sure to hit up next door to hear some ridiculous karaoke and grab some beers between sets.

Micro T looks like a pretty radical amp.

Power cords? Well Nick sent me a Merc cable with the Iron Pile and it sounds good to me. When I bought my Hiwatt off TGP (for an already cheap price of $1100) it came with an audiophile cord just thrown in. Nice and heavy duty but I can't really say I hear a difference. Next time I'm at the space I'll check and see what it was just for shits and giggles, it was like $250 or some shit. Seems like the solid reasonable upgrade choice is the Mercury, they're not that expensive at all.

Trackin that one too. Some friends are playing next door that night, "Besties" lol. Considering who is in it, that should be epic, and Lozen is headlining that. I do believe there may be some attempt to coordinate set times to match your set, as I know there are a bunch who want to catch both. CAN. NOT. FUCKING. WAIT. should be an insane night.

All wank and no practice makes Beasley a dull boy.

Yeah, I'm in that boat, ADD with the riffing, too. Total lack of discipline. But, there's not a lot of joy in my life lately and a whole bunch of grind and work, so I let guitar time slide and just do what feels good.
I'll get motivated to practice when gigging and being witnessed by others becomes a reality.

And this.

Look man, if he's in a bad place and caught up in some shit, maybe hit him up about it, ask him if there's something else you can do to help him out, but let him know extorting you for money ain't gonna be happening. You work your arse off for your shit, you're generous in lending it out. He needs to come to the party and earn some man points by not playing bullshit games.
Either way man, that fucking sucks and is awkward as all fuck. I hope you get a good outcome.

Anyone have recommendations for a contact/piezo mic to go behind the bridge on my bass vi? I'm thinking of wiring it to a separate switch to have instant noise/feedback available at any volume/be able to sing/yell into it. Also, is there a better placement/way to do this?

One of you is going to feel ripped off, yes. BUT it should be HIM not you that feels that way if he's trying to extort you.... Go over there grab your shit tell him you'll give him money once everything is loaded and accounted for, then hand him a fiver and say have a nice life. If he's trying to extort money out of you to get your own gear back you need to cut ties and come out on top.

good luck summit.
always shitty when dealing with friends. sometimes we make mistakes or have misunderstandings -- I know i've been there before.

hope you can just sort it all out, gentlemen like, and can skip the bullshit.

but what skip said holds some weight. there's a tenuous line on the friendship right now. what kind of dough is he asking for in return? couple amps, a cab and some pedals? you want $50 then fine, happy to have paid you to borrow them for a grip but whatever -- we're bros and you need some scratch. anything else and somebody can probably fuck off. let the friendship slide if somebody is being a goddamn turd.
