Very nice. I really like the color of that one as well.

how is it in comparison to an LP, in your experience? clearer sound and slightly faster neck, i'd imagine? is it as deep-sounding as an LP or more inthe SG realm?
Exactly -- a little more clarity and bite, and a little less thickness than the LP, and yeah, the neck feels faster.

I've had one two different times and always traded it off for something else that I ended up trading for something else. I always thought they sounded pretty good on guitar but never really fit in with them band mix though. The Supercollider did everything the Swollen Pickle did but better. I did absolutely love the Swollen Pickle on bass though.

Guh, haven't been on in a few days.... too tired to go back and read.....
So yeah.... my VB-2 died mid set on Saturday... Blew the infamous internal fuse, and probably took a power tube with it

The good news is I get to use the Naki for our big show this Friday!
Also found out my back might not be as bad as I thought, turns out its most likely just a really badly infected ingrown hair

Doc said that due to all the swelling and its location it was putting pressure on my spinal cord causing the cyst like symptoms and all the muscle pain. It sounds pretty stupid and disgusting, but its alot better then a cyst that has to be removed surgically!

That finish is awesome. Congrats on the new guitar. That's three Doom Roomers who now have that guitar.

Okay, it's the Ibanez AR320 Artist Reissue. It has a better factory setup and playability than Gibsons even up to a few hundred dollars more expensive (I tried out multiple SGs up to twice its price and the only one that compared in feel was the new SG Standard). In fairness, this may have just been shitty Gibsons on the floor at the shop.
It plays similar to my Epi Les Paul (which I think also feels as good as or better than lower-end Gibsons) but comes stock with better pickups and is a little lighter. The body isn't quite as thick. The two small switches next to the volume/tone knobs tap the pickups between Parallel > Single Coil > Series and it's such a great stock feature that it's what settled me on the guitar today.
It's an exceptional bang for the buck. Plays and feels like such a more expensive guitar. I couldn't be happier with it so far. Just a pure rock and roll workhorse. Frankly, I don't give a shit that it was made in China.
Chinese quality has improved a lot over the last few years. Koreans even more so.

My Ibanez Artist, which is an old Japanese model from the 80's, is really inarticulate compared to my Tele and Edwards Les Paul with P90's. It has huge amounts of bass and sustain. Although the pickups are really awesome for what they are—heavy and throaty—they aren't clear or sparkly, something that I miss. It's great overall for what it is, but I think the newer versions, based on what pelliot has said, might have a little more clarity and shimmer to them.

Dude, yeah, that's awesome! Not so on the dead Peavey front, but at least you have an awesome backup.

Don't count surgery out. Not to put a damper on your parade but they most likely gave you antibiotics which can work but there is a good chance it wont due to the hair growing within the skin and neededing to be removed in order to stop the irritation that is causing the inflamation. My abscess issues stem from an in grown hair. They can get pretty gnarly if not handled properly. But this is far better news than what you were saying could be wrong before. Just get that shit taken care of sooner than later.
Also Trey, got three Kowloon Walled City albums last night off Itunes, hooked.

Beaten up heads are the shit. Yours looks very natural already, so a little tarnishing will only perpetuate its awesomeness.

Oh I'm not counting it out but luckily the purged it then gave me anti-biotics so I "should" be good. I've unfortunately been down this road before, just never with one quite this bad. And agreed this is much better then thinking it was a cyst or bad disc. I'm all ready on top of getting it fixed, so I should be good soon, the only downside is the last one took almost a month to heal once I reached this point. Damn lil buggers are slow to heal.

That's a valid point good sir!!! And my gigging cabs are all ready rather "tarnished" so it would match up well. Maybe I can convince the band to let me start using my big cabs that match the naki while I'm at it......

Yeah man, they are awesome. What do you think of the new album?
I really want to catch them when they come though, but between it being a weekday show, me having the new truck payment, and a bachelor weekend for one of my bros that next weekend it's looking like a no go for me

The new album is awesome. I thought it might have to be an album that grew on me, dug it first listen. Just that single they put out was weird. That opening riff is awkward in a lot of ways, but I dig it.

Does any of you guys know how to make a simple tap tempo with like an LED that blinks? I'm trying to get one to complete my board since the dd-5 doesn't have that young blinking light. also I decided to keep the muff. It sounds good and fuzzy by itself, and I don't need the money at the moment. The second I'm broke though it goes on the chopping block.
On another note, I was trying to get a doom band going by using the dread craigslist ad's. It's probably the worst idea I had, filtering though the most random of messages. One dude was practically telling me his whole depressing life story and then he finally showed samples of how he play and boy did it left me with laughing. There were other highlights too.
I like that I'm in a Tortoise/Don Caballero style band but I want to play some heavies for giggles. My dirt pedals don't get used enough in my current project haha
