Dude right? I may have to get mah Ishibashi on...

In other news, I had authentic-Mexican-food level GAS for this Verellen Bassman:

Until I realised I could get a clean, serviced Blackface Bassman for that and still have money left over for tacos...

All I really want is a (third) Superego and a mono expression pedal for my Timebender.

And a bigger apartment for more pedal building workspace.

Trust me, these type mamelukes do not want to collab with electric musicians. Now if you were the kind of fellow whose jam consisted of flappily offgassing notes through a dented saxomophone until your spitvalve runneth over, well then maybe he'd call you back.

He'll prolly only play with you if you simultaneously add accoutrements to and dissemble a piano whilst playing along with his shenanigans...

Don't get me wrong; I love true avant-garde, boundary-less musical expression. Unfortunately it's easy to fake creativity and out-of-the-box performance, especially if your audience hasn't already seen any other bojackers hocking the same routine before. It's cool the first time. Then it gets tedious. 20 minutes later I want to start a punch-fight. And Dobbs forbid they actually play a RHYTHM. When they do it's so dorkward and rebarrassing that you wish they'd go back to playing the art-jass.

Anyone can suck at drumming.

 You do need it, though. Everyone does. :success:

John: Yeah, I get what you mean. Was sort of part of a very local jazz scene growing up, as it was closest to the music I made/liked. Seen some truly excellent avant garde drumming, and some of the aimless-kindergartener-throwing-a-fit variety. I thought the dude in the vid played sorta interesting though, and that weird shit he does could fit in the long stretches without drums on some of my tracks. But it might be my drummer-gas blinding me. :idk:
