it's 6
basically...*sigh*
basically FF1 was released here in the US.
FF2 was not, neither was FF3.
FF4 was released here and they decided to call it FF2 for the sake of keeping things semi-sensical
FF5 was not released in the US BUT FF6 was so they called it 3
when they moved on to the PS they decided to keep the names as they originally were so that's why you have FF7
make sense?

I played through the first chapter of Ghostbusters on xbox360 last night. enmjoying it, in a uniquely ghostbusters kind of way. I wish they had more "authentic" language in it though. Unfortunately, when a movie is rated for a "teen" audience, you can say SHIT, but if a GAME says SHIT then it's "mature"

BULLSHIT.

Ok I change my stance on dragon age origins...great game. Very much like a cross between morrowind and bioware's usual rpgs.
There were so many options, you really felt like every action had an impact, because it really did.
There were so many branching points, I put in a good 40+ hours and to explore the other options (plus the other 5 storylines, I only played through the hume noble origin) could take a life time.

Onto Mass Effect 2! (and maybe guitar at some point)

the Doomjazz is having to take a back seat for a bit
FFXIII is actually really good.
really surprised me

the battle and progression systems are pretty cool and the way they tie in with the class system is straight up fantastic, really creative and well thought out.
first game I can remember where I'm not running from fights but looking for them
if you get a chance pick it up, I'm maybe 7 hours into it, loving it
and I came in with the lowest possible expectations and nitpicking everything, yeah its a lot like a rehash of 6-9 and KH but it does it so well that even my snobby sensibilities are appeased

I've heard nothing but bad things about 13 so far...I'm one of the hugest FF fanboys around (I even played 11 for around 5 years) but this one is sounding like a rental to me.

I thought the same thing but on a whim I went ahead and bought it.
lemme post my mini rant from facebook,

Just finished playing FFXIII for the past 4 hours...
It's really really surprised me thus far, then again inhad such low expectations that maybe anything short of utter fail mightve done it for me. The job, progression and battle systems and the way they're intertwined is nothing short of really-creative and thus far se...ems really well thought out. Characters still seem a bit one dimensional and the story still seems like a rehash but we'll see what happens

You kno, no matter what u say or think, you have purchased the game and have spent 4 hours in one sitting, I would say square has done their job, can u just admit that it's entertaining?

I didn't say it wasn't entertaining, hell when I woke up I played for another two hours. My dissatisfaction stems from wanting a new, good game and not a mash up of things that have worked before. 13 is a mix of 6-9 and KH.
Not gonna say I'm not loving it thus far, but I'm also not gonna cover up for where it failed to meet expectations, my own ... See Moreand those of every independent reviewer (do some research into SE paying off major magazines for perfect scores, and in a good amount they still only got 9/10s or the equivalent). The themes, colors and characters are archetypes of the series, hell the opening scene is so much like 7 that they could've released that alone with no explanation and people would've thought it was a 7 remake. The relationships between the characters are straight out of 8. The story, thus far, and granted; I'm only 6 hours into the game, is too much like 6 meets 9. There are too many little things everywhere that anyone who's been a fan of the series for even a few games will immediately recognize, which wouldn't be a problem had SE not promised a rebirth of the series with the FNC. On that note, any news on VXIII? nope. Agito? nope. There are well founded rumors that due to creative integrity people have started leaving the respective projects. whether it's true or not the fact that the rumors exist speaks volumes for the issue here.
Is 13 a good game? hell yes. Does it meet up to the hype? by no means. Am I enjoying it? Enough that I would've been pissed had I not bought it.
I will say this, the soundtrack is on par with 6's, which is by far my favorite ^^

:hello:

goddamit it doesn't post right, I'm thinking it's too long so it compensates --'

suffice to say, I'm a big FF fan and came in with low expectations, yes it does have it's weak points and no it does not meet up the hype or promises but it's still a damn good game

Interesting about the 6-9 comparisons...I need to see how that pans out. I'll be playing it shortly, though I've been playing too many rpgs lately, maybe I'll sneak GOW3 in first.

To be honest, one of the real reasons I didn't buy xiii on release day was I was setting aside money for a new slapback delay

I spent the last eight hours working on Flixel tutorials. Got through the "Hello World" one just fine and made headways in the platforming tutorial but...

OH GOD, WHY DID THEY RENAME FlxCore TO FlxObject AND NOT UPDATE THE OLD TUTORIALS?

It's now 12:30AM and I can feel my eyes falling out of their sockets. ughhhhh
