I found out a neat thing about my amp (Peavey VB-2)...the preamp is on when it's in standby mode, so you can use it as a DI with adjustable EQ and as long as you don't take it off standby, you won't blow up the amp by not having a cab connected to it.

Dude i did the same thing at my house last night! first keg at my house, made 30 bucks off of it too! had a great time, got really trashed, loved every minute of it
