I'm confused, are you talking about yourself, a bassplayer you're playing with or Buzzo now?

backwards, yeah, them low Hz tones indeed, don't know the exact frequency bands but I think it's something like that (skip to 6.50):

I have a meatbox, the 35 and 60 hz knobs boost/cut those frequencies like an EQ, but it still tracks the notes you play more or less like an octave pedal, it's not fixed at 35 and 60 only. It also only tracks up to a certain pitch, so if you play guitar into it as I do, it essentially only picks up the lowest string so you can play full chords into it and it gives you the sub of the lowest note without getting too muddy or scrambled.

Ah, got it, thought so but just wanted to make sure because at first I thought you were asking for yourself (quite a few guys with a Bass VI around here).
What kinda amp / speaker setup does he use?
Yeah, I still think Meat Box or something like that is better for a real deep disgusting bass / Bass VI than a 2 octave down pedal and he's already got the Multiplexer which can do the 1 octave down.

Just wanted to know the power and speakers, I think that could/should work with a Meat Box or EQ/Filter type of deal of some sort.
I also really dig the DBA Kill Kill Filter on bass to get a deep sound, though it's not as crazy and disgusting as a Meat Box I reckon.

So I've been struggling with gear indecision lately. Since I bought the bass VI I've been playing it more like a guitar, but I can't seem to get past the noodling stage and actually write some riffs. I've been playing with delay and verb a lot more lately, but again, no solid riffs.
I've been considering doing away with the delay and moving towards a more synth/fuzz centric board with no time based effects. Dirt, octave, pitch shifting, and some modulation. I might keep a verb on board for some atmospheric stuff.
Of course, this is all still in the brainstorming phase. I write really precise driving noisy aggressive stuff and I've been wanting to get a little gazey with it, but I'm finding it difficult to use delay and verb effectively with bass/VI.
HOW DO I SHOEGAZE?

I get to see them in 2 days with the Austerity Program. I'm gonna be rocking out so analytically. I must learn from them.
My main issue with the way my playing style has evolved is that I'm not sure where I fit in a band context. If I got really good at looping and started a bass VI/Drum loopgaze noise rock thing I'd be golden. But I don't know if I'm confident enough to do that.
And nobody around here wants a bass player with 2 extra strings and a delay first in their chain. Maybe I should find a bass player and be super low lead guitar.
I don't know. I'm in a slump I guess, and my first instinct in a slump is to shake up my board.
I have a Descent incoming that I'm already considering selling to fund a Subterranea but every time I get an octaver I flip it. But every time I flip it, I miss it.

2 person drum/guitar combo was there most fun and most freeing experience I ever had in a band....truth is I am a terrible guitar player and a barely mediocre bass player. I only played percussive ring mod noise feedback stuff and I never fit into a band until I kick out the bass player and second guitarist (we still had our singer though..?but they kin of do their own thing). Twas a blast and it sounded much better. I had gotten better by that time too and threw some UK82 riffs in between the noise. We played a ton of shows even with me having no talent. Haha....heck, played with some famous people too (got asked to do splits with people all the time)
Just get out there and find a drummer or a machine for the moment. All you ever need is a drummer. A crazy singer helps too.
Do whatever you want. As long as you do it with conviction, dedication and heart you'll be happy and there will be an audience.

Honestly probably gonna work best being a duo or trio with a vocalist. Or finding a guitar player that is into bass vi. If you lived in Michigan I'd have a boner for you playing bass vi in my weirdo metal band. But it's definitely niche.
