The more I stopped relying on bandmates to make music, even if it was songs I was writing, I would write less if we weren't practicing much but once I got the idea that no matter what, I should always be making and writing my own solo music. Now I just need to finish it and release it which is a whole other personal obstacle that I'm working on. Now I feel flooded by too many ideas of things I want to do. If I go a year without making music then those would be some really dark days that I question that I'd make it through.

Agreed 100%. If my missus made me choose between music and her, I would be a single man and she knows it. Lucky for me I can have both. :yay:

Being in a band when everyone is cool and your making music and having laughs is one of the best things in the world. When its not its draining and soul destroying...its almost like a bad marriage.

Dont sell everything, keep the irreplaceable stuff...and take a break, nothing wrong with that, and you might come back to it in a little while, and then you'll be happy about the things you kept.

If music is not the thing that brings in money to live on, you can take a break and get your creative releases elsewhere...i stopped playing guitar for a good 10years...and in that time i turned to drawing and writing...but when i got back into guitar, i got very deep and couldn't live without it, and that was about 5 years ago and even with two little kids (one newborn) i still manage to play for about an hour a day. Band or no band, I'm doing my thing. Point being, sometimes breaks are good to freshen up something and give new perspective.

Also...I've bought something very special in the last week or so...and it has arrived in the country...once i get it, oh man...my rig will be a thing of dreams (my dreams anyway!)

So, you got another partner in your marriage from the robust trade in female entities filtering from Eastern Europe?

I kid....

....but really, think of the childminding opportunities.

If another partner enters this marriage, it wont be a living human being...

Real Dolls are fucking creepy.

Although, perhaps not as creepy as Ryan Gosling.

Am I stupid for wanting this?

Fuck.

That'd be rad.

Might piss the audience off though.
There'd be no way to thank them if they were getting into it.

I think I sold it to one of the doom room regulars... Maybe Parker, I can't remember. I miss it something fierce and bet it would fucking rip with this new setup I have now.

Also just scored a hard case for my Jazzmaster and ESP on Primaxe for $125 shipped with their 21% off code.

In the same deal where I got the badascan I got something else you might remember..... a certain HM-2 maybe? :poke:

conky wrote:New Pickup Day!!!

Got the Black Winter installed and holy fuck, this thing rips. Not too far off from the Duncan Distortions in my other guitars. Maybe a tad bit brighter (but that could be the alder body and ebony fretboard) but they still have the nice mids and growl of my other pickups. I was worried about the cleans but they sound fantastic. They get a lot warmer when you roll back the volume a little bit too which is nice considering this is a one pickup guitar with no tone knob so there is still some nice variation in tone to be had from it. I probably won't go swapping the DD in my other guitars for these, but if I come across a good deal I'll be sure to pick some more up. Really thinking about putting one of these in the neck of my LP to see if it brightens it up a bit.

Got pretty bummed out about my Rat Tail last night. I don't think it's a deal breaker or anything but it really doesn't seem to like single coils very much. I start to get noticeable sag from attack on faster riffs.

I'm kind of fucked in the distortion realm I feel like. I think once Christmas has come and gone and life is a little slower I'm going to start trying a fuckton of distortions and fuzzes to see what I really want.
