Did anyone pick up the Super Pulsar? I've almost ordered one three times today, but lack of reviews and videos on youtube has kept me from it. Well, that and its size and the fact that I've never owned a trem before.

The MASF Kidnapper is a Buzz Box-clone. Not made around "here", but available from Tone Factor. I think Skully once told me that the Buzz Box is a pretty complicated build with some hard-to-get parts?

Doesn't Audible Disease have one?
Mantic do the Meat Box but not the Buzz Box I think.
From what I read the Buzz Box is basically a Rat into a Blue Box so you could try that as well maybe.
Though I'm not sure how good 2 octave down is going to sound on Bass VI, even the lower notes on the guitar aren't very audible as a note really.
Personally I'd go for something else in case of the bass.

Single octave down fuzz on bass vi would be better IMO.

Yeah Audible Disease has the TT-1 which i think is almost exact but very expensive.
Mantic did do a limited run of Buzz Box clones a while back but I doubt they'd be obtainable now.
The MASF Kidnapper is a simpler version but while I had that I found it tracked really nicely, tonally it's a really nice but it doesn't have the distortion/octave blend control like the DOD so it's just full on octave. I found it was really audible on guitar especially on one of the modes and on bass not bad either with the saw turned up, but yeah, that lack of blend was a bit annoying, probably the nicest sounding octave i've tried though, just needs more knobs.

Understood, as far as I know the Buzz Box was made with / for Buzzo though.
I think what you want is more a 1 Oct Down and an eq / filter of some kind, maybe a Meat Box?

The 141g is pretty tits on bass vi. And it can be tuned to do sub octaves and still cuts through well. The gate keeps the oscillations at bay. Driving Notion is also killer on VI.
Buzzz or similar octave up fuzz is fun too.
Copilot Cubic is a good, reasonably priced sub octave pedal that either does a single octave down or 2 with glitching to 4ths and 5ths. And the filter on it is nuts. You can set it to 2 octaves down and crank the filter and it does some really fun stuff. I think there's one on talkbutts right now for about $100.
That new-ish Boss Multi Overtone seems like it would be pretty awesome too.

Buzz Box was their Grunge pedal with a clone of the Blue Box, it was their take on Buzzo's use of a rat/blue box.

yeah, i actually really really like how bass vi pairs with a RAT. it cuts the low end sort of like the strange switch but not as heavily so it sounds really defined, i think that with some other sort of octave pedal would make a good pairing, not sure about the blue box as i haven't tried one.
Tristan - isn't the meat box a subharmonic pedal that outputs 35 and 60hz tones rather than octaves? it would probably work great though with the right speakers, adding those frequencies without the low octave band to muddy it up.
