That EGC Standard is whispering sweet nothings in my ear... And that scrambled security cam pic of crazy nice guitars for your first post makes you 500% ALRIGHT in my book my man. Welcome to ILF!

It's a Japan reissue and basically in perfect condition. I've searched for one (vintage or reissue) at Ebay for quite some time and always lost the auction with 1€, seller would not ship here or something but finally I got it and could not be happier about it. I like how the sound is really different from my other basses and being a short scale bass, it's of course different to play with.

FTW!!!
Throw some flats on that bad boy and thump city.
I'm considering. Any suggestions for good ones? Although there's probably a thread on this somewhere...

Thanks. I agree 100%.
Sweet christ that's awesome. I had to have one of these after watching some Can videos. Won one on eBay a little while ago, should be here soon i hope.

Three guitars by
maxwellm, on Flickr
Mexican Tele Special (tuned funny), Eko Blue sparkle monstrosity (with mother of toilet seat on the backside, also tuned funny) and Mosrite Celebrity tuned standard.
The amp is a Music Man 112, 65w, which gets pretty loud once I open it up just a little bit. Pedals is hidden (and change frequently and without warning--most recent fuzz of choice is the Gnomeratron which is amazingly versatile, capable of singing just fine or dialing in complete trash-o-tone sounds. I may love it more than my Sovtek Muff; it certainly has a wider range of voices.)

A slight update. I changed three of the tuners out for some non-bent ones, shielded it, made a NEW and IMPROVED bad pickup ring/gigantic cavity cover out of the original pickguard, and put on the pickup cover that Mudfuzz gave me

And I learned that my phone camera makes everything a freaky shade of yellow.
Also Mud's comment about old oldschool P pickups leads to the next thing...a new '51 pickup in the future

I'm only slightly worried about how to carve up the P rout so the pickup will fit perpendicular without it looking
too bad. Also I'd like to wire it with a 3-way switch to have either the neck mudbucker, both, or the P alone, with a master volume. I like it with flats so far.
I have a petty grudge with Fender now for making that double-bucker Tele bass. Trying to steal my thunder, eh? Just couldn't stand seeing this classy piece of lumber all by itself, EH?!

Flipping fender: when they make an HSH P you will know they are watching.
That thing is sweet. I may have missed this earlier but how is the switching happening?

Thanks! it's just two volumes to the jack -- one is for the P and one is for the other two. I didn't like the bridge pickup solo'd, so that won't even be an option in the future. It also sounds pretty weak if you combine all three, I'm guessing it has to do with the P's resistance being 12.5k and the mudbuckers' 30.5k.
I wanted a bass without tone controls. Besides, flats + mudbucker + closing the tone pot at all = are you kidding...

That thing is awesome! I like trashy looking (open holes instead of pots) pickguards

also- have you tried to white balance your camera? should get the yellowish gone.
