things are Not Going Well. the girl and i were about 30 seconds from breaking up via text when some kind of emergency (apparently there were cops at the house assumedly relating to misconduct by her sister's alcoholic/drug-using recently ex-boyfriend) so now i don't know if we're together or she's dead. i despise this sick and vile world and everything in it. present company excepted, of course. and i can't even call my best friend to commisserate because an emergency call could come in. someone kill me, PLEASE. i can't take it any more. been living on Klonopins almost a week.

Traveling to the Netherlands, where I’ve wanted to go to see my grandparents and pick up some stuff since before corona began. Now I am going because my grandpa actually passed away. It’s just opened up so I can attend the funeral but I hate that I couldn’t go before.

My girlfriend experienced exactly the same situation with her grandpa passing in April when we weren't allowed to move out of our hometowns. Sending some good vibes

that's truly awful. it's bad enough not to be able to be there when you're wanted and needed, but it's something else entirely to have that absence forced upon you by factors utterly beyond your control. all i can say is that he'll always be with you regardless. my mom didn't even have a funeral...she went straight from residential care to the crematorium. yet she stilll resides in my heart, despite the lack of a formal goodbye. so does your grandpa. hold onto that and treasure it.

things are much better with my partner. to my great surprise, she admitted yesterday that she'd been ignoring my needs, as well as many other things, in order to work on things which she's been obsessing over. i am very relieved...i'm under no illusions as to my degree of responsibility for the deterioration of the relationship, but after obdurately insisting for weeks that everything coming from her end was Just Fine i feel we now have a platform from which to work.

A friend’s spouse has been heading down the path of early Alzheimer’s for a while and the deterioration is accelerating. Shitty time for it to happen when the rest of the world is going nuts and I can’t really be there to help or support. Even by phone because they’re mostly on their own, and you can’t take your eyes off a non-lucid person who has been known to bolt the house.

Extremely mild one for me, I ran over my SD card with my chair yesterday so can't do any recording until a new one arrives.

I really hate losing shit on the ground, though. It's like carpet is this weird black hole that just sucks the thing away until you get careless, then somehow that thing ends up broken under your foot.

Day of moderate annoyance. Major winds ripped through last night, power's been out for hours, can't find my cats, freshly painted porch is now filthy. To top it off, lost out on a rare part I needed to complete my tele because paypal decided to log itself out mid-transaction.

had a big fire at my wife's family farm overnight - nobody hurt but fuuuuuuuu
also, what fun to stand around in the rain from 2:00 am to 6:00 am watching it flame and smoke and then listen to the chainsaws grinding on the roof :mope:
