We totally rocked! It was an awesome pretty short show. The guys that played right before us played for almost an hour when the plan was to keep it short everyone else clocked around or under half an hour. So I decided we wouldn't make the same mistake and instead of boring the crowd we left them wanting for more. We managed to maintain the tension over the whole (improvised) set even though the cute english laptop artist that had played as well said we sent her to sleep "in a good way". But whatevs, it felt right for me. Plus I got enough money from this to buy a new pedal.

Awesome! Good times and you got paid. WIN,WIN![/quote]
Haha, yeah! I forgot to mention the sound engineer was a total badass that knew ever second pedal I had on the table and was completely nonchalant about me just playing feedback:
"Hey move that guitar away, I need to put a mic in front of the amp!"
"No, man, I need it to feedback all the time."
"Now I get what you're doing. Cool! I can work the mic around your guitar no problem."

It's probably super trivial, but I'm quite proud of myself for learning this.

Just wrote a song, or at least started writing a song, that isn't based on some over hashed blues/classic rock chord structure or riffs. This is a barrier I've been trying to break through for a long time, pretty much since I got into Arcade Fire/The Flaming Lips/Radiohead and stopped listening exclusively to classic rock, so roughly 2005.
OOooooh, and I just realized the drummer I've been talking to is a lot more like minded musically than I thought.
