Same. I'm so burned out that I don't even really utilize the days off. Then it's just another cycle of grinding all over again.
It's gotten to the point where my hope of finding a non-shit job is...very faint. Lol.
I just want a job that doesn't make me want to call out sick every day, is it too much to ask?

I can sympathise. I'm on basically a three month oscillation between "yeah this is a good job and I like it" to "well maybe someone pushes a button somewhere and the whole human experiment is over and writ large I've had it pretty ok."

If it paid even remotely a living wage, I think my dream job would be night janitor at a college or something. I'm pretty well broken of anything resembling ambition, let me just spend eight hours mopping and washing windows and then go home free of anxiety to do things I care about.

Real talk, I took all the night shifts at my college library just so I didn't have to deal with folks. I finally started having to train people my senior year, which is how I earned the moniker, "Jani-Czar." But it was really nice just to leave someone at the desk and clean the place up and organize, I was always stressed about my classes, so seeing an actual, visible difference was great for my self-esteem.

Night shifts at the library was hands down my favorite job. Doing "custodial engineering" in any of my jobs was always the best part. I'm a corporate stooge now but I get to move a colleagues desk today and basically have a boner right now at the thought of actually doing some physical.

Same. The best job I ever had was volunteering at a record archive where everyone left me the fuck alone while I listened to music and filed stuff into the stacks. It was awesome.
Over the holidays I had some time off and I started being productive again, it just happened naturally. Thought I had a creative spark back until I went back to work, and poof: all my will and energy vanished. It often feels like I can either have food/shelter, or a reason to live, but not both.

Fully Sympathize with the job nonsense.
I am already thinking of cooking through some 2020 vacation days and the year just started.
Was supposed to have a new contract in september and a Salary discussion in January and neither happened, super frustrating.

Speaking of book organization stuff, I'm filling in as at a bookstore as a favor, that favor being called in at 9:45 am (the store opens at 10) while I was eating my breakfast biscuit and drying my clothes. The current worker has decided to organize going outwards (starts at M and goes from there), but wants to put em on the shelf perfect before alphabetizing. I'm sitting here in rage at the cart before the horse organization in damp jeans on 2 hours of sleep until 6:30. fun fun.

Re: The spite, hate, rage, apathy and mild irritation thread
Took me a week to set it up when we moved to this building. It's been a week and a half now and there's still books piled up all over the floor.dubkitty wrote:what kind of evil, senseless mofo does this? it reminds me of the boss i had when i was 18 who insisted that i should wash the floor before i swept it.but wants to put em on the shelf perfect before alphabetizing.
So we bought a huge lot of old consoles and controllers, most nasty, lotta mold and caked dust, and likely smoke damaged (dude smoked in his shop) and I shocked the ever loving shit out of myself plugging in a playstation 1 to test it (I ain't cleaning something that I'm just gonna part out). It was an audible pop, and it got me even though the power cord was a new, regular rubber one I tested a dozen other consoles on. My face still has the tinglies.
