This is a band on that list. I'd willfully watch this entire band get murdered and tell no one what happened. That music is so bad I'm actually inclined to think they don't deserve to live. Really hoping this is just a troll band.

Not sure I agree with that statement.
I disagree completely. I mean first of all do you enjoy the music this forum is named after?
Ya dood I love Pentagram and Black Sabbath.

Not even sure what's going on here anymore, but to say an entire decade's worth of music sucks means your not listening hard enough.

Sounds like pretty straightforward Lamb of God-y/Shadows Fall-y stuff to me, but they're singing about, ahem, "money and bitches" instead of being an angry redneck or whatever it is that Lamb of God sing about. I wouldn't listen to them, but I don't go out of my way to listen to that kind of music anyway.

And now I'm listening to every band on this list. Damn you Mantooth!

I mean even though I'm not in to Lamb of God at all, I wouldn't insult them like that. Lamb of God can at least write a song that isn't just one long metalcore break down with lyrics stolen from radio hip-hop. Also as far as I'm concerned, any band full of white fuck boys who use the n word in their music can get repeatedly crushed by a semi for eternity.

I didn't notice that last bit (and yea, fuck that), but yeah, I don't know dude, I was on the periphery (no pun on the band, who are djenty, I think?) of the whole New England Metalcore extravaganza that was the early/mid 2000's, and that song sounds pretty interchangeable with anything from that zone to me.

That's true, it does sound like Periphery the band. The whole djenty scene is kinda weird because there's some talented players in that scene but their music can be distilled and cloned by people who picked up a guitar two weeks ago. I was super in to the djent stuff until I realized almost all of those bands have no songwriting skills and just play technical shit for the sake of it and play a breakdown just to give the listener something easy to latch on to. It grows old fast when most bands within that scene sound like they are all playing the same song.

But for real though that song you posted isn't really/appreciably different from this. Structure's are a bit different, but it's like talking about the difference between red apples and green ones

True
To me the slower pace of doom makes the songs more discernible. I'll chalk it up to preference but I guess when you're playing a slower pace that isn't focused on technicality, you have to be able to write actual songs or no one will dig your shit. There's no hyper-technicality to hide behind I feel.

I should say I'm not trying to slam Lamb of God or any of those bands, just that I don't see much of a difference. Maybe if I was more versed I'd be more offended.

Shit on LoG all you like, I've only heard them once or twice in my life
I just think Attila is a whole different tier of completely wasted human energy. But they are more 'successful' than I'll ever be so who the fuck am I to be talking

I saw that pile of garbage cover on facebook. yea I only give a fucking about Nails. Revocation is pretty decent but I'm not floored with them or anything.
Everything else is fucking garbage. hate new at the gates. Hate failure deafheaven, hate terrible Kvelertak both are highly boring and dull the former is a not good screamo band, the later is a crappy version of He Is Legend. the rest are interchangable fucking garbage.
Lamb of God, I thought New American Gospel was listenable due to the production with the emphasis on the drumwork, but as a band their earlier incarnation Burn the Priest was better, they wrote more than a string of breakdowns.
djent is a fucking joke. I like Meshuggah back when only they were doing that shit and they wrote songs back in the day before they decided to just ride one note on one string.

This is a good example of what I was referring to when I said metal's current popularity has it's downsides.

That's just mislabeling. I don't have a single care about metal's popularity. There is ALWAYS an underground of excellent and more interesting bands that never get much notice unless you actually take a bit of time and dig. Worrying about what the top layer of scum and failure is doing is pointless outside of telling someone that doesn't know better that they suck and should listen to X band that was far better.

This album is fucking amazing. I didn't like the follow up ep as much cause it wasn't bouncy as fuck.
Also never wore jncos in my life. I had intelligence and didn't dress like a fucking idiot.
