That is something I would need to do anyway just to help keep it straight where everything is going

Help? I'm sad because of unrequited GAS. I saw a used Dark Interpreter on Reverb, balked at the price (same as new) so I made an offer, in the meantime somebody sniped the unit. I'm sure I'm daydreaming, but I imagine how perfect it would have been on my noise trip next week, where I don't want to lug around a bunch of heavy stompboxes (but I will anyway).
Too late to get something new now, I guess... But just out of curiosity, what other devices are small and portable (possibly with body contact points, but at least highly "playable") and designed for noise? I was thinking maybe Microgranny but looking for something more "performative" if that makes any sense? In the vein of Ciat-Lombarde and other experimentalists... Suggestions?
Dark Interpreter, for reference:

UG has one and could probably send you in the right direction.
I would recommend talking to RMA/crochambeau...his devices are top notch and he has done some touch sensitive stuff (like putting a contact mic in the tetanus booster. Crustacean is freaking great too.
If the device you choose accepts CV, you could probably wire up a few cap touch pads with random voltage values or something (like a cheap ribbon controller or touch keyboard).

Ok, touch point synths were, and still kind of are, totally my bag.
So we have:
All of the bugbrand weevils,
Kraakdoos
Meng qi cracklebox (see etsy)
Ciat Lonbarde mr grassi (and meng qi board version) plus another of the paper circuits I forget the name of,
The catsynth (?) it's a PCs board synth shaped like a cat
Mute synth I and II, there are also a few more dirty electeonics touch synths
Electro lobotomy has done some touch synths in his time and I'm sure would make one on commission. I had an awesome one he made from a circuit bent smoke alarm,
Check out 'copper touch synth' made by a European dude called platonic world,
Stylophone s2
Michael rucci touch synth
I feel im forgetting some!!

That looks cool as shit. I have a huge GAS boner for some of the ciat lonbarde/tocante stuff.

Thanks! Knew it was something cat related in name!
I would say for getting wild and most expressive the weevils, particular board 09,2012 and 2015 are the absolute best, and can be snagged quite cheap. However ive never used a tocante and would imagine they are strong contenders, but at a much higher price point.

+1 on the weevils, particularly when paired with the finest Norwegian nine volts.

So the band is soft getting ready to maybe go on a first little tour. How important is a hard case vs a soft case for my pedalboard? I have a gator soft case, which is definitely more padded than my smaller pedal train bag, but I'm still pretty delicate with it.

If only you/people who are going to treat your stuff gingerly will be handling your board and ylif you store I well I need band, then soft is fine. If anyone else is touching your shit orbit you have multiple heavy things, then definitely hardcase. It costs more to fix several broke pedals than to get it. Also, sound people and star hands will try their hardest to break your stuff, depending on venue of course. :P

Has anyone used that Boss Vocoder with screamed vocals? Does it clip weirdly or anything?

... don't you work in a gear store? Shouldn't you be out there fighting the good fight for us?
