I've tried so many times and like so many related bands, but just could never get into Old Man Gloom. It's kinda a bummer. Zozobra rule though.

Been listening to Bong - Mana-Yood-Sushai. Pretty calming soundscapey ambient drones.

I've been listening to a lot of Old Man Gloom and just started getting into Isis. I need to get my pedals organized and on a board before I post any sort of pictures.

You can check out our last song here: http://youtu.be/el9p3EokaSY. Not very doomy but you get to see/hera my super bass build into my new sunn 4x12 which is kinda doomy. Sorry for the audio on the video, the high end kinda over powers the mic built into the camera but it turned out alight for it being just the little flip cam.

Dude!! Jason! welcome to the new best thread on the interwebz!!! I will def check out the video later on today.

Edit: I got excited and went to post another time....then decided to combine things. Like this combination of the past couple posts:

Yob Castle:

I love Dark Castle and Stevie is also one of the nicest people i've met in the doom scene. A band I played in back in 08 played two shows with Dark Castle before they blew up, but they did blow my mind! She's an amazing artist in both music and tattooing. Them and Yob are both 2 of my favorite doom bands.

I'm the opposite, listened to ALOT of Isis and I'm just getting into OMG. I've had NO on constant rotation for a few weeks now. BTW there's a craigslist ad in the musicians section that seemed to fit the bill for you perfectly, just a heads up if your interested, if I had more free time I would definitely hit them up myself.

I'm not terribly connected to this genre but I still get the feeling that these guys are underrated. I saw them a few years ago and they played a jam that they had only played a few times before. If I remember correctly it became this record but seeing them live was an experience.

Just doomed the fuck out with my drummer last night. I asked him to track some drums for a song of mine, which he did while I played through an amp sim, and then we tracked guitars together. IT WAS METAL AS FUCK.

I have no idea what this thread is, because I usually stayed away from HCFX. I'm more into stoner rock than doom, but I'll get into a doom mood every now and then. I always loved Sleep and Kyuss. I didn't really get into doom until I exchanged a few PMs with Ron from Bongripper. I dig them, and I've also gotten into Electric Wizard.

I've tried to listen to Old Man Gloom, since I'm such a humungous Isis fan, but they haven't tickled my taint yet.

The HCFX had a lot of different music fans. This place is obviously going to be different, but it wasn't just Doom that was discussed in the Harmony-Central version. Our chats spanned calming wall colours, masturbation, vintage amps, pedals, jobs, religion, everything.
