No command and conquer?

Seriously?
All your picks are good though.

1. Beyond Dark Castle (mac)
2. Command and conquer
3. Dunno, maybe duke(the original). Meh, maybe duke 3d. But maybe balder's gate.
4. Dungeon keeper
5. Civ IV, maybe Age of Empires ii.

I kinda picked games that held my heart more than anything, but there are games that I think are technically better than Max Payne, such as Command and Conquer, Black and White, and Bioshock.

bioshock infinite is very cartoony. even in comparison to its predecessors. odd choice.

Super cartoony.. I don't really love that about it but I still think it'll be on everybody's best games of 2013 list.

Haha this rules Max! That must have been awesome vacation! *smile* What class did you play? I'm still watching Dark Souls walkthroughs, I'm just hooked on it like crazy. As a life-long RPG kinda guy it just ticks every box for me!

If I was gonna choose an all time favourite video game I'd probably pick the first Sierra Hero's Quest or the first or second Space Quest. I love that era of games, love the type in interface, love the graphics and sounds, love the humour.

Current generation? DARK SOULS! And to a lesser extent Demons Souls. I love swords and armour and wizards and experience points, can't get enough of that stuff.

Anybody check out the slick new version of Slender?

I started completely nude because I fucked up the builds so bad when I played them that I got to parts where I died. I when straight strength and got Lighting +5 on a broadsword. This was pre-patch so it just wrecked everything in its path. Took me a full day after we got back to beat the final boss. I screamed so loud in victory I scared my cat =/

ok... i haven't finished off bioshock infinite yet but am pretty sure that's getting close since i'm on my way to the antagonist's home. regardless of the finish, overall i've been kinda disappointed. first of the bioshock series is definitely the best so far IMO. it's almost like they targeted a younger audience with this one. just not as creepy & stressful, plus apparently the biogenetic experimentation that was all mystery in the first has apparently become something common in this one. sniper rifle was a nice addition since i'm a sucker for those thanks to hitman, but aside from that even the weapon variety is pretty boring...

i'm glad i picked it up but at least at the moment after playing a bunch yesterday am kinda "meh" about it. :idk:

That's the first bad review I've seen so far. I know others have disliked it compared to other Bioshock games, but I haven't actually read any of the comments yet.

i should point out how i'd probably like it better if i hadn't played the others... it just feels light and too repetitive in comparison...

I imagine teh developers wanted to branch out and try something different and reach a wider market. Some loved the horror of the original Bioshock, but others didn't. I loved the original Bioshock, but I'm terrible with scary games or movies, so when I first started hearing about Infinite, I was in heaven. I've had a screensaver on my desktop for months in anticipation. It looked to be exactly what I wanted from the next phase in Bioshock history.

A lot of people preferred the second one but didn't like the third. So far that's what I've heard. I've played the first two and could never get very far, despite loving the mechanics, characters and graphic design. The second one freaked me out more than the first to be honest, maybe because of the more graphic visuals, I don't know. Have you seen the animated films? They traumatized me. It's easy to do that, but still. :p

no i haven't... i played the first one clear through. i sold the second one two days after buying it. was just pathetic in comparison, at least to me. jumped right into annoying fights instead of there being a bit of mystery & tension.

if i didn't have other games already lined up i'd say maybe i was in a bad mood slump and should try it again...

also pretty sure i was right at the end of bioshock infinite last night... spoiler:
NSFW: show
made it to the bridge to the guy's house, saw it turn to winter & jumped through time to give the young eliz the note from the old eliz

...and my goddamn 360 locked up on me.

bioshock infinite spoiler...
NSFW: show
the final airship battle was annoying as hell and the conclusion was fucking stupid aside from graphics. which were still cartoony aside from the water & weather.
