I understand where you're coming from, but at the same time I don't think it's fair to doubt the sincerity of a band just because they're playing a style of music that's already been done before. I mean it isn't a great departure from the origins of hardcore, but I still think a lot of the bands who played/play that style possess sincere motives and aren't just doing it because they want to seem like a badass hardcore band. I know some bands are in it for that reason, but I'd like to think not everyone is void of musical drive and passion. I'm not by any means trying to start shit, just my 0.02 on the matter.

read some shit about odd future's hype being due to white critics' fetish for 'black male rage' and thought it was dumb so i started reading stuff about 'black rage' and rap music and now i'm between not knowing what to think and agreeing with the article. but mainly i'm kind of confused and sort of angry, but not in a cognitive dissonance way, in a lot of complex and weird ways that i can't easily articulate.

So friday i was told id been hired for a job i would start today. I did not start today. In point of fact, i didnt get the job at all, because every single thing i am involved with turns out to be a heaping pile of bullshit. Fantastic. Great. Awesome.

You might enjoy this book. I was forced to read it in a composition course freshman year ( that i would later discover i had passed out of on my entrance exam) and didnt end up hating it quite as much as i thought i would.
