I fucking love my L-1000, if that counts for anything. Though, it's passive, and has the pickup right in the middle. Awwwwwww yeahhhhhh

Joe Gress wrote:I've actually been debating on a G&L as well. Maybe even a usa made one as a used one can be picked up for around 800.
My question is how close are they to a Stingray in terms of sound? I haven't played a G&L, but I've heard they get close. A stingray is pretty much THE sound that I love, but the G&L's seem a little more versatile in the tonal output.
I went through the exact same thing! I almost always had my L2000 set to Stingray configuration, but having that neck humbucker and being able to turn the preamp off in a simple switch was very handy.

Deluge? Whats up man! You've been missed at TB dearly, but I think you'll like it here just as much or more.
I'm doing all right. Hopefully you guys are doing the same or better.
Still loving fuzz, which is why I'm here, obviously.
Also, the Tribute is a fun bass to play, though I've only noodled on one or two in a shop (and unplugged at that), so I'm not going to be much help in that regard. Felt like a solid bass, for whatever that's worth.
I think the dude from Dillinger used/uses one.

So I got something pretty awesome today. Our college has a good number of vintage/used old equipment that hasn't been touched in the last 12-15 years. I work as a stage tech for our rehearsal hall and dennis (our boss) is also the equipment manager for everything that belongs to the music dept. He's been getting sick and tired of the old equipment in storage closets (that could be used for newer instruments), so we've been going through what works and what doesn't. My co worker got an old Roland SH-101 that sounded fucking cool as hell, but I think I got something waaaaaaaay better:

Already tested it, and it seems to work very well. A bit noisy and the filter section needs some tinkering, but I think I scored pretty well here.

You bet! Ran it through my GK 700RB-II and an Avatar 210, and also a Trace Elliot 15 combo. The 15 rumbled more, but both sounded pretty awesome. It has a regular 1/4 in out on it, and has an output control.
