In other news, my afternoon of gear upgrades is 50/50. I started on swapping pickups on the LP and I wired it up backwards. The neck and bridge volume and tone pots are in the opposite places. It works though if I put the pickup selector in the opposite setting. There is one issue though. The bridge volume doesn't go to 0. when I roll the volume all he way off there is still sound, like somewhere around 5 or 6 and then when I roll it up the sound goes away and then comes back in full when I roll the volume to 10. I dunno what is up with that. I'm gonna take everything apart and start all over later.

I did fix the grill cloth on one of the cabs though.

That came out really nice.

That's exactly what my band mates said. I don't feel guilty for saying it, but I feel bad that I had to be the one to teach that guy the lesson, I just hope he doesn't hate me for it. But the band as a whole was very inexperienced; going beyond given set time, everyone playing during sound check, not taking gear off stage right after playing, and the list goes on. So they were either oblivious, too high to be in public, or had maybe played a 3 real shows in their life. They gotta learn those lessons at some point.

I completely agree, I think it was more of a combo of being too high to be in public and being inexperienced to playing shows that aren't in somebodies back yard.

Cool Alex, thanks. And I agree, nobody except the band or a roadie / tech should be on stage during a performance. Period. I've always given that respect, and i expect it back.

He totally didn't get it, I know he was high as balls and I have suspicions he was tripping pretty hard as well. I know their drummer was definitely tweaking hard, he'd go from laid back jam band grooves to meth induced 220bpm blast beats out of nowhere and the rest of the band was struggling to keep up as if they didn't normally play at that speed. It was a weird show.....

I know how you feel. I hate being mean to people as well. But it has to be done. You just wish it wasn't been you that had to do it.

I replaced my Musket a long time ago and haven't looked back but I've always wanted to try a Blunderbuss. Intrigued by the Fix'd Deluxe as well. Been sitting on a PGS credit, saw this sexy beast and figured why not....

I haven't played with the methed out drummer but I have with a coked out drummer. Wasn't very pleasant, tempos were predictably everywhere....

I think we've all been there to some degree or another. I hate people who can't get shit off the stage quickly. Not to toot our own horn, but when we play, we usually can make up 20-30 minutes of a late start. We hate waiting. As soon as the other band is off stage, we load on and start playing. We hate waiting for set times. we play our 30minutes and get off the stage in a minute or two. Everything gets pulled off and chords get wrapped "backstage" Can't stand watching dudes do that up on stage.

I've had to get a little lippy with other bands we've played with before. I know how you feel. You don;t want to be a prick, but it happens. We played a show once where the loadout door was behind the stage. The guitarist of the headliner walked off stage to the bar as soon as they were done with his full stack blocking the door. After asking him politely 3 times to at least move it away from the door, we moved it. The rest of his band had already loaded off the stage. He wasn't too happy, but whatever some of us have jobs to get to in the morning and want to leave. ha.

It's not quite the same thing, but as another sympathetic note for Kev, when I was watching Hobbit earlier in the year with my brother, these teenagers wouldn't shut up. I lost it. I turned round and said "WOULD YOU EVER SHUT UP!?" I immediately regretted it. The lads just got up and walked out. I should have been more patient and simply 'shhh'ed them, but I lost my temper. It happens, I keep telling myself. It helps ease my conscience.

Skip that was a totally alright thing to do, it would have been more appropriate to slam your bass into that dude's teeth when he came on the second time. Like WHAT THE FUCK? That's really annoying. I mean I often just leave my stuff on stage but I get it out of the way and then enjoy the rest of the show and pack up afterwards, but damn, interrupting a playing band like that should warrant for a serious ass kicking.

I know how you feel though, I hate being mean to people too and can eat myself up for it, but sometimes it's just the right thing to do. Life has taught me not to just take everything. I still swallow up a lot, maybe too much, but some things are just crossing a line. This would be one.

Thanks guys. It's reassuring to know that I wasn't out of line. I didn't feel out of line that night but in hindsight I felt like I might have been.

You totally should just go off more live and make people fear their own personal safety if they go on stage. That's sort of what we do. My guitar randomly goes flying

Plus it would look awesome if you went off during DE shows.

I actually re fell in love with my Twosome this past week - for whatever reason I maxed the tone controls on both pedals which apparently unlocks some secret extra crushing mode on both pedals. The Fix'd approaches Pharaoh levels of awesome with some settings like this.

hahaha that would be pretty hilarious to watch, we get decently energetic during shows but I feel that going nuts on stage wouldn't exactly fit our vibe. All though the next guy who randomly gets on stage during one of our sets is not gonna like the outcome, I might just randomly start going nuts on stage and accidentally knock their teeth out with my bass....
