Man I don't think it was terribly out of line. That dude either simply didn't get it or was just a total prick.
That came out really nice.conky wrote: Never heard them before and I usually don't like much clean vocals but I really dig this.
In other news, my afternoon of gear upgrades is 50/50. I started on swapping pickups on the LP and I wired it up backwards. The neck and bridge volume and tone pots are in the opposite places. It works though if I put the pickup selector in the opposite setting. There is one issue though. The bridge volume doesn't go to 0. when I roll the volume all he way off there is still sound, like somewhere around 5 or 6 and then when I roll it up the sound goes away and then comes back in full when I roll the volume to 10. I dunno what is up with that. I'm gonna take everything apart and start all over later.
I did fix the grill cloth on one of the cabs though.
Hmmm a 1590BB could definitely fit...... and those 5 controls would be perfect..... Your not helping my broke ass though......new05002 wrote:That would need to be a custom jobber then. The one I am going to build is got 5 controls. Volume, Release, Attack, Threshold, and Ratio. Along with the 3 band EQ would probably be in a 1790NS but the 5 control version sans the EQ could be a 1590BB
That's exactly what my band mates said. I don't feel guilty for saying it, but I feel bad that I had to be the one to teach that guy the lesson, I just hope he doesn't hate me for it. But the band as a whole was very inexperienced; going beyond given set time, everyone playing during sound check, not taking gear off stage right after playing, and the list goes on. So they were either oblivious, too high to be in public, or had maybe played a 3 real shows in their life. They gotta learn those lessons at some point.AngryGoldfish wrote:Think of it this way, what else could you have said? What other response is there in such a situation?
I completely agree, I think it was more of a combo of being too high to be in public and being inexperienced to playing shows that aren't in somebodies back yard.samzadgan wrote:Skip, i don't think your response to that bass player was bad, he's luckily you even responded...like you say he should have handled his shit before leaving the stage or wait till you guys are finished with your set...not come on during a set, thats just plain arrogant! To my mind it's insulting to interrupt a set to ask stupid questions like that, and the fact that they are inexperienced is even worse, because at that point they should have even more respect and be more humble...we've all started down there at some point and i know i never would have even thought of interrupting anyone at a gig.
Cool Alex, thanks. And I agree, nobody except the band or a roadie / tech should be on stage during a performance. Period. I've always given that respect, and i expect it back.crohny wrote:Kevin, I think you were on point for what you said. Having people on stage who aren't suppose to be there is a hazard for you, them and your gear. Fuckem. He got a life lesson.
He totally didn't get it, I know he was high as balls and I have suspicions he was tripping pretty hard as well. I know their drummer was definitely tweaking hard, he'd go from laid back jam band grooves to meth induced 220bpm blast beats out of nowhere and the rest of the band was struggling to keep up as if they didn't normally play at that speed. It was a weird show.....pelliott wrote:Man I don't think it was terribly out of line. That dude either simply didn't get it or was just a total prick.
Exactly.AngryGoldfish wrote:I know how you feel. I hate being mean to people as well. But it has to be done. You just wish it wasn't been you that had to do it.

I haven't played with the methed out drummer but I have with a coked out drummer. Wasn't very pleasant, tempos were predictably everywhere....crohny wrote:I want to get a drummer all methed out and see what happens.
I think we've all been there to some degree or another. I hate people who can't get shit off the stage quickly. Not to toot our own horn, but when we play, we usually can make up 20-30 minutes of a late start. We hate waiting. As soon as the other band is off stage, we load on and start playing. We hate waiting for set times. we play our 30minutes and get off the stage in a minute or two. Everything gets pulled off and chords get wrapped "backstage" Can't stand watching dudes do that up on stage.Ancient Astronaught wrote:
Speaking of shows, we played out on Sunday night and it was one of the best shows we've done as a band. But this one dude... The bassist of the horribly inexperienced Jam band before us, disappeared after their set and took over 10 minutes to get his gear off stage and we had to push him to do so. And because he slacked he apparently left his jacket on stage, so in the middle of one of our songs he sneaks up on stage next to me to grab his jacket then stands up and knocks my bass with his head and tries to tell me "I'm sorry dude", and I'm not sure if my reaction was appropriate but I felt it necessary, but I told him "Don't fucking apologize, get the fuck off the stage!". He got this wide eyed look of, holy shit I just realized what I did and scuttled off the stage. So I figure the ordeal is over, no biggie. But I was wrong, he comes back during a sample interlude 2 songs later and ask's me while I'm in my stage zone if I see a stratocaster gig bag on stage... So I lean over and tell him "Now is not the fucking time, you should have handled that before we went on" and I think it finally sunk in, that either I was a grade A asshole or he was an A+ dumbass. Do you guys think that my responses were appropriate? and have you guys ever had similar things happen while your on stage playing?
Solid choice. Such a fucking classy looking pedal too.Holy Schnikes wrote:I replaced my Musket a long time ago and haven't looked back but I've always wanted to try a Blunderbuss. Intrigued by the Fix'd Deluxe as well. Been sitting on a PGS credit, saw this sexy beast and figured why not....
hahaha that would be pretty hilarious to watch, we get decently energetic during shows but I feel that going nuts on stage wouldn't exactly fit our vibe. All though the next guy who randomly gets on stage during one of our sets is not gonna like the outcome, I might just randomly start going nuts on stage and accidentally knock their teeth out with my bass....deathmonkey wrote:You totally should just go off more live and make people fear their own personal safety if they go on stage. That's sort of what we do. My guitar randomly goes flying
Plus it would look awesome if you went off during DE shows.
