I should Download a game off the sales, I have a week off and would like a fun game.
dood. i WANT to. it looks hellza fun. but i kinda don't want to buy any DLC until they bump the level cap up. i only play first person, and it's like...... what's the point if i already have each character at 50? i liked the Mecahaphile grrL though. she was cute. and the Pirate DLC was fun.
it's cool that they didn't kill off Main Pirate Layday. MOAR OF HER.
I didn't even buy the Pirate DLC, and I don't think I'll be buying either that or the Mr Torgue DLC anytime soon. It's nothing to do with the level cap: I don't mind not having extra levels—50 is just nice; I'm one of those people that thought that having enough skill points to max out two skill trees made the game too easy and got rid of any semblance of a balancing act in terms of skill point allocation—but there's just something about BL2 that hasn't managed to make me fall in love with it. Great fun, and perhaps better than the first one, but I just can't imagine myself spending 200-300 hours on it like I did the first one.
(Totally lollin' at all the anti-Gearbox RAGE for nerfing The Bee in one of the recent patches though.)
heh. the Bee WAS awesome. i was killing things about 5 levels aboove me easily with it before they nerfed it. now only 2 or 3. i like using it to breeze through most of the first playthrough. makes True Vault Hunter HARD when you start it 5 levels lower than you should be instead of 5 levels higher.
i found a silly way to kill The Warrior without taking any damage, so i just run quick through the first time, cheese kill him, then have fun in True Vault mode.
i.... kinda LURV this game.
The Bee is/was still over powered at lv 30.
Torgue still holds up at lv 50 though. They've got repeatable cap level arenas and you can buy new Legendary Weapons with tokens. I like being able to farm tbh, giving middle finger to game dynamics.
Finally bought SC2 now that it's down to $20. I lost all my placement matches (I didn't bother playing the campaign or anything, just went straight to the ladder never actually having played), but I'm beating silvers fairly consistently, so I'll probably move up eventually. I should probably read up on strategies and timings and such, since most of my games end up being turtle fests.
Anyone got a WiiU yet? I'm seriously considering getting one, but I'm not sure if that's a silly idea right now. Mostly interested in it so the girlfriend and I have games to play together, and it looks like it would be good for playing if we have friends over too.
The Wii U seems to have had a predictably shitty launch line up. The only one people got excited about was ZombiU and I've heard the general reaction was,"meh."
Yeah, the only games so far that really appeal to me are Nintendo Land (as a casual party game when we have friends over for drinks), Mario (because I'm a sucker for Mario games), and Scribblenauts (I played the first one on DS and I remember it being pretty fun). Pretty much everything else I'd rather just get for the 360. But I know it's only a matter of time until I get one, as I'll definitely want Zelda, Pikmin, etc.
I haven't bought a console right around launch since probably the N64, so maybe I'll be an early adopter again. And it's not like its going to be dropping in price for quite a while I'd assume.
Well I took the plunge and bought a Wii U earlier this evening. Found a store with the deluxe version in stock (last one!), and after spending a while charging the game pad, I'm now waiting for it to do a system update. I only have Nintendo Land so far but I'll give you guys my impressions of that later, probably tomorrow. I'll probably buy Mario in a day or two.
does the WiU go to HD? 720 or 1080? i LURV Mario, but never ayed Mario Planet because of the low rez. i've got a larger tv (60 inch), so lower rez stuff is problematic.
"my food is problematic."
"grrL's a genius but can't figure out how to eat a Ice Planet."

Yeah normal mode is boring as hell once you've tasted TVHM. Also found all the "HAY GEARBOX THIS GAME/TVHM IS TOO HARD" comments (on the GBX forums) a bit funny. Sure, you can't really go in all guns blazing in TVHM (sometimes you actually have to, y'know, use cover and shit?) but I think that's a good thing, no?
In other news, Dishonored is brilliant. Like, really good.
murgles..... so.... is Dishorored super sneaky game style? because i fucking HATE sneaky games. i've tried all the ones that seem super awesome and buds have said "it's not THAT much stealth" and i fucking detest them. Dishonored DOES look hawt butts.
murrrrr?

You can do it in a totally unstealthy way if you want, or you can stealth it up. I enjoyed being sneaky but it doesn't really penalise you for not doing that. Fun game.
