it means somewhat crap all here aswel but the thing is that everyone ends up dropping out by the end of it and theres only like 3 that end up at grad most have got jobs but im trying to back myself cause it know its gonna be rough

ill have to hit u up for advice on tips for classical recordings theyve always run so good for me but some instruments ive taken educated stabs and they were great but im always open to tried and perfected suggestions

Yeah Sibelius does suck and is fairly useless in the real world.

Best tip for classical, find a fucking awesome place to record, a stone basement, a church, I really wanted to try a field but that's a hard set up. Get inventive, don't just stick it out in the studio.

I was always a less is more person too, obviously if you have a full orchestra you got your work cut out but for a single piano three mics (2 covering the room, one near the open hood) you can get some great tone, run it through a tube compressor for some warmth and to deal with the different levels that accompany the instruments and straight to the desk, Boosh. Lots of mic experimenting needed, I always sketched out the room and drew in where I thought I would get what refractions and the right amount of space to the sound, saved everyone having to sit around doing nothing as it gave me a starting point.

And yes classical players are awesome to record, always really nice (And alot of them were smoking hot) and do the job properly without complaint, perfect every time.

Rock Players... you got the arguements between them, they almost never practiced, instruments weren't in check, I was lucky to get very good drummers but the guitarists all used fucking Zoom multi FX... you wanna know how much they kill the sound? I didn't even have to watch the levels, so processed it was just constant, made the job easy but getting a good tone out of that shit was a nightmare... plus the singers were never all that which meant trying to cover it up with reverb and gah. I had to rerecord guitar parts myself which when I really wanted to go home wasn't fun, followed by going home and drinking coffee till 5AM with an 8AM Start just to get something useable in time for the ridiculously short dead lines. Ya can only polish a turd so much.
