i started that No No No No It's Not Rick And Morty It's A NEW THINNNNNNG on Hulu, the Solar Opposites thing, it's.... okay? feels a lot like Rickens Mortabs. only a couple episodes in, mebbe like Futurama it finds it's own voice in a bit?

Super late in the game - as always - but I watched The Irishman.
Meh.
I like movies that take their time, but this was too slow for a gangster movie, plus all the digital young versions of the actors did not look real enough, and not because of the digital component, but because you could easily tell by the movements that the actor was OLD.
I see what Scorsese wanted to do, but it just turned out as a long life story that could have been condensed in 2 or 2.5 hours of movie (which is already a long time, but not 3.5hours..come on!)

yeahhhhh. i got about an hour through it. just... not my jam.

good point on the Brittle Steps Syndrome messing up the de-aging shenanigans.

hahaha yes the de-aging technology was completely usurped by their old man movements   it was so strange. Would have been much better served by using different actors IMO.

Overall I still enjoyed the movie, but yeah I watched it in 2 or 3 separate sittings because damn it's long.

i did it in two sittings too, but that didn't help anyway.
Don't get me wrong, i like long movies, but you have to be sure to handle the rhythm properly. The Deer Hunter is one of my favorite ones, and it's almost 3 hours long, with a lot of "slow" parts, but it works because the script and the montage (and the acting) emhpasize what needs to be.
The Irishman left me in a sense of constant limbo. It's like a song where too much compression has been added and it has lost the dynamics - don't know if it's a fitting example.

Oh yeah I agree with you. Way too long. It was all very well done and overall I enjoyed it. The last hour or so was incredible but I think they could have built to that a bit quicker.

Solar Opposites is pretty trash, but the subplot is surprisingly compelling.

It's one of those shows you play in the background when you're busy doing something else, and then actually pay attention when the subplot comes out.

I forgot how great the Justified pilot is.

I feel like I'm going to spend the rest of my life circling back to like a dozen great TV shows because all the algorithmically-generated crap on Netflix bores me to death.

Watched Upload. It's okay. Future right around the corner kind of thing. It's basically an entire show made from a Black Mirror episode.

I had the same thought, except a couple different episodes

oh shiiiiiiiiiiit they made an aninated series for Ax Cop? yes. fucking. PLEASE.

going through Solar Opposites (it's okay, i agree the side story (Little Town right?) is more compelling than the Less Interesting Characters Doing Rick And Morty Things of the mains), will do Axxees next.
