So: Austin Powers-themed blooz lawyer guitar? Only $8k? Shut up and take my money.

That purple is nice.
Maybe get an ibanez semi hollow and paint it, chank?

… or, even if I got a real custom painted Gibson, I would hope, it'd probably be less than $8K for a fully full-on purple one.

No idea but I'd think so.
You guys get beater Gibbos pretty cheap don't you? Surely you could grab one and get a pro spray in that factory purple for way less then a new custom?
I just have this idea that it costs about ten times less to guitar in America than here so I'm probably wrong.

This cracked me up.

None of it adds any new functionality, it's just stuff that makes what you have work just a little better?
Yeah I'm up for new leads and an isolated supply soon.
Sorta sucks but I know I'll be happier when it's done.
Buying tubes is the same feeling.
Tube rolling is fun.
Spending money on that shit is not.
Also that Yamaha is hot.

Yes. So I don't do it. The I try building my own power supply from wrecked electronics and electrocuting myself, and I start browsing Reverb.
Basically, DIY is a fun way to fail to learn to do things.
Cables are easy to make, though.

Does anyone else OCD about their power cables crossing their audio cables? I can't avoid it, but that doesn't stop me constantly trying.

Yep. I do.
There is a certain logic in minimising mixing up audio cables and power cables so you don't end up with parasitic noise in your audio. Especially if you love füzz.

Laziness + Love For Lo-Fi Techno = Lots of Cables Crossing w/ Nary A Care.
Somehow, even though i knew that was a thing/issue, i'd actually never even really considered trying to avoid it. I'm so messy it seemed inevitable.

And, ya know, I can't say I've ever had a problem with it. That's how I know it's a mental thang.

Yeah. This. I imagine it was some combination of laziness, ingenuity and possibly not wanting to get sued by Gibson...

They are pretty nasty germ muffs.
I was going to sell mine but decided to keep it.

Yes. Especially with unbalanced signal routing.

Yup. This logic applies to rack gear design, especially with tubes,
especially in mic pres and other circuits with lots of gain. Typically i/o is on the opposite side of the power transformer (where PSU is internal) the standard being i/o to the left, psu to the right [looking at the faceplate]. IEC power cords can all go to the right, while the XLR etc can all go left.
I used to go spaghetti/bird's nest route until I experimented and wound up lowering my noise floor by implementing some standard practices of my own.

Yeah, the backplate is a travesty, but maybe there's some room in there to install a push-pull activated fuzz pedal. I love the lower horn.

$150, but that might have changed, as I got one of the super early ones.

hey senseis, can you recommend a device or tell me what I need to change presets/banks on my dd-500/space at the same time? I realized my biggest limitation right now is the ridiculous amount of toe tapping necessary.. I'm a complete midi noob so all help appreciated. I plan on adding another MIDI friendly pedal at some point so something that can handle 3 at the same time would be perfect
I'm guessing something like the disaster area design stuff; but I'm only seeing 1 midi port. am I supposed to chain them together?
