I'm trying to buy a guitar off this dude and I've never seen someone this reluctant to ship across the border. He won't do USPS and wants me to pay $40 for UPS to pack it up, $220 for them to ship it, then the $400 I'll get on taxes. Then asked if I had a US address, gave him one, still won't do it because it will be different to my paypal address. Offered to drive four hours to meet him a little over half way, won't do it. If this wasn't a very specific piece of gear I was looking for that didn't come up often I would have just given up a while ago but holy shit this dude is obnoxious.
Didn't think it should be this difficult to give someone money.

I was thinking about your story actually. It's such a bizarre level of convolution for what it should be. I swear to christ if I have to end up driving 6 hours to PA I'll block his toilet with one of my monster shits.

Hnnngggg, TFW you do improv (comedy) and you hesitate on a good idea and you keep replaying how it could've worked out the rest of the night.

I don't why it's just impossible to get French/Italian baguettes around here.
If I could just get some decent baguettes, I would eat awesome subs/grinders every damn day.

Ohio loves to pretend sourdough bread doesn't exist. For some insane reason. I make my own bread to get my fix.

Right?
I make my own pizza dough, but I'm too lazy to go to the trouble of making bread every couple of days to satisfy my sandwich needs.

Overslept, didn't get enough coffee, and now I have to sit through a 3 hour "Forecasts for 2018" presentation followed by my new hire ethics and inclusiveness training. It's gonna be a long day.

Inclusiveness training?!? That sounds so weak man.

Just make sure you jam a little when you get home, that'll fix you right up :joy:

I did my forecasts last week, I think I only missed by around 800k in 2017

inclusiveness training sounds brutal.

Tweaking hard today. So much to do, so little reason to do it. I'm not capable of drinking champagne while the ship goes down...but all of the people who make the decisions are clearly very happy to do so. So I guess I'm doing their work now, too.

Wish I were a carpenter or electrician or some shit. This is making me a worse person.

The problem is there's a lot of sinking ship champagne drinkers in any and every profession. I was a mechanic for 6 years, and they were even there. I'm kind of the same way though man, I take on stuff just so it goes right even though I could easily not do so and have no responsibility when it all went up in flames.

Maybe it's just the way people are wired. Dunno. Watching people get fucked over because people are greedy and/or lazy is a pretty big bummer, though.

That was the my entire plumbing career which spanned 4 companies. Get hired, people get greedy lazy, massive layoffs. Repeat. It's everywhere.

It's also why I didn't want to be an engineer. I watched Shell freaking hire and fire them dime a dozen and ship them out to whatever failed project....it was a vagabond life controlled by corporate overlords.

Shell, then flying j did it to my dad after 30 years. Had to move to another state.

My dad and I, like you IM, couldn't give up and worked our asses off. Until I was out on my ass.

I think it's true of most professions that there are people who just do jack shit, don't care and somehow never get fired, because there are a smaller number of people that take everything on, get shit done and never complain or ask for recognition. The irony of course being that the people who do jack shit never get fired, because the other people are always cleaning up after them, so everything doesn't fall apart.
