@ SR: in part i'm being a prick. see recent posts for context. poking me right now is like poking a rabid fucking raccoon. you could try to be a little more aware of that with folks. but in part it really does piss me off that you seem to think it's OK to jab everybody with abandon but if someone dings you you're all MOTHERFUCKER HOW DARE YOU. now, when i get pissed i grab any verbal weapon to cut with; i learned to use that as a weapon when small because it was the only weapon i had. the stuff that i just hated on you in a really cruel way about is the same stuff that i tried in the past to kindly explain was stuff you could change by choosing not to perform to the expectations of the townies who want you to be their clown. it was lame and shitty of me to be hurtful that way today and i'm sorry. really i don't have anything against you. my strongest feeling about you is that i wish you'd realize that a lot of the things you do either for approval or because you believe you're supposd to do them seem self-destructive and cause you pain. right now i'm in a really poor space, and wound up communicating something entirely different. sometimes i suck, and not in a good consensual happiness-producing sort of way.

and yeah, i'm old. i hate it. i really don't need to be reminded any more than you needed to be reminded about your living situation. do you understand now? i'm sorry that my snap reaction was to throw back something i instinctively knew would hurt as much.

In due time my son, in due time. It was a huge pain in the ass trying to find people to simply jam with, let alone form a cohesive song writing unit, in the desolate wasteland that is Pantera/Metallica cover bands and bad metalcore. I don't mean to "Ha" at your misery but that image is hilarious.

I've never worked front of house staff,...but I have relied on tips to offset the amount of hard work an order required compared to my lousy wage. I've gotten stiffed on $1500 catering orders in that past (before the boss adopted an automatic gratuity on orders over $100). The upshot of the gratuity system is,....you tend to remember who makes it worth your while,...and who doesn't. You'll go out of your way/above and beyond,...make small talk,...whatever for generous people, while the cheapskates get standard service.
