The streets yes. But my commuting route goes through the woods with a bit of non-asphalt track. And right now is lumber action. So the whole wood roads are muddy.

I went over a giant pot hole the other day (small construction cut out in the asphalt around some sort of pipe) and while I didn't really lose my shit, my back wheel hit so hard that it cracked. Miraculously didn't get a flat (Vittora Rubino III's rule), so I'm still riding it for now... but I just finished up some shopping. Ordered a new wheelset, new tires (more Rubinoooos), and a smaller cog so I won't be spinning out so much. I'm telling myself I can't look at new cranks tonight, no more money should be spent today

After 7749km i exchanged the cog. And cleaned the shit out of my daily commuter.

Tomorrow it will rain and it will look muddy again

Always love seeing your bike. It's so pretty

Yeah, I need new wheels as well. Philly streets are hell. I'm starting to get stress fractures on my rims. I think this's the week I'm gonna go get 'em. Can't wait too much longer, I've been poppin' spokes like a mofo.

Heres a cheesy chinese no name cyclocross bike I've been using, I painted it kinda recently. Its gotten long in the tooth though...really really fed up with SRAM bullshit. Need a new road bike...and Shimano.

Anybody ever used Tannus airless tires before? I ordered a set from my local to give them a go, I'm tired of changing tubes once or twice a week because the roads in my neighbourhood are so awful and covered in gravel and debris all year.

Cute cat. :hobbes:

Never tried airless tires, but as I think I've said earlier in the thread, I switched over to riding Schwalbe Marathon Plus. I'm very happy with 'em. Haven't caught a flat since. I was having the same problem as you, roads have way too much debris around here and they never get swept. If those Tannus tires don't work out for you (I'd imagine the ride takes some getting used to), I definitely recommend the Marathon Plus.

What are the advantages of tubeless? I've seen them mentioned a lot, they seem to be really popular with mountain bikers. Aren't you fucked if you get a flat on them? Like it takes burst of high pressure from a compressor to seat the tire so it seals the bead?

You don't get flats with tubeless tires. There's no air to go flat. That's the advantage. No flats.

I think they're probably pretty well attached to the rim. I doubt they're coming off easily. :idk:
