Ok question for you- I've got the kit here, the board has a total of 16 pins, but my chip is 14 pins, leaving two empty. So which way do I orient the chip?

the IC? sounds like you got the wrong one

Yeah. I sorted it out with Aen a little earlier today! It's all built up waiting for the new chip!

Im having some of the same problems as other people. I have never done anything like this, and haven't even used a soldering iron before so its all really sloppy. It will bypass fine, but when I turn it on it hisses, and does the helicopter noise. And to be clear pretty much no guitar sound comes through. Here is a pic.



I have triple checked to make sure no wires were touching each other or the enclosure, and I have tried re-soldering everything. So here is a video of the pedal in action.

oh yeah and the LED doesn't work but I don't care about that

Just compared my wiring to yours and it looks wired fine. Maybe your joints are cold. I'd definitely redo the in and out jacks. Looks like the wire is quite exposed.
