The mountain is in the SW corner of NC in a damn near magical valley with natural waterslide waterfalls and lots of biodiversity. Big Green Mountain. Local climbers call it big scary and it doesn't see many outsiders. Hard ass climbing on invisible water polished holds and lots of long potential falls with decking potential. The parabolic shape of the old water eroded granite pluton makes for skidding and road rash on the way down if you can't stay over your feet. Fortunately I haven't fallen while climbing out there yet but I'm still very intimidated by that wall. NC has some of the most under rated rock climbing in the country, not much of it is easy or safe though. Trad is rad.

The black eye was from a fall off my mountain bike. Cased a drop and shattered my helmet.

i've had a bloody eye before but never fully like that. yick.

Also, I've only once tried climbing and it was just super! A friend of mine showed me to a "moderate" route up a 40metres way, since he had high expectations about me and I managed it but boy it was hard. Made it, despite the sand in eyes and an angry bee targeting me. The adrenaline high lasted for two days, after managing something supposedly not beginners but... NOTHING compared to that, respect.
