Looking to grab a ss/bs mini. Can anyone confirm that jacks are not board-mounted? I assume they are wired to the board, not soldered to it? And where is the power jack (same question)?

Jacks are wired to the board, not directly soldered, same with the power plug. On the top jack version I think the power is on top but I could be mistaken. On the side jack version its next to the input jack, closer to the footswitch that the knobs.

Haha, wow.

That video. It's like the behringer version of a moog video.

Better question: which existing synth did they clone 1:1? And will Richard Devine lend his approval to their spaghetti sauce?

Also,

That gretsch is awesome. They had a bunch of pretty weird solid bodies in the 60s and 70s.

I'm really glad that I never got rid of my Small Clone. Been in a deep Gothic/Darkwave mood recently.

Sunday whim research is frustrating (and only happening because of frustration with other projects).

So....usb-midi is the freaking bane of my existence. I have a device that connects as a peripheral to a USB host for USB over midi...I don't have a DAW with midi and I refuse to buy one/don't care to ever use one. After fighting with the dang computer, I gave up on that whole world.

I am looking for USB over midi hosts that do not require an idevice or a dang computer. iConnectMIDI4+ seems to be the only commercial thing that does this but it is $200 and not really something I need (I'm just messing around...nothing serious). Any others I should know about?

Found disaster area ghost and teenage oplab. Will they do what I want?(control a midi device with only USB via an actual midi device?)

What I am really think though is just to do it with raspberry pi or arduino. Any good start links for running a USB host on either? Haha, the cost and time into either will probably be the same as that iConnectMIDI4+...but still not sure if that will actually work.

Edit: guess I should mention that I am not sending midi message over USB, I need to send them via din and receive them at the destination via USB. Backwards usual.

Lots of MIDI host options and info here: http://www.vguitarforums.com/smf/index. ... ic=15763.0

I still need to find time to study this and pick a path through. The Livid Guitar Wing is too damned cool not to be controlling my Eventide.

That is exactly the kind of link I as looking for. Thanks! Still nothing exactly perfect, but I will figure it all out.

I think I might just go with the Kenton until I have more time build my own more eloquent solution. Haha.

I keep feeling like somebody half thought out midi over USB (,or use it to just cut costs). Everytime I try to do anything that would have been simple with old midi...I hit some kind of road block.

Only reason I am reluctant to learn raspberry pi right now is I am already messing with arduino and midi box. Might be burning pics soon. Damn dumb ideas in my head.

This requires a computer to setup (same as an Arduino or Pi) but this can also be a synth/sampler/effect/who knows what if you're so inclined:

http://www.axoloti.com/product/axoloti-core/

I have no experience with it yet, but it's next on my list.

For Arduino I was looking at trying this one: https://studiothorn.wordpress.com/2015/ ... converter/
