After this's all over, I hope the U.S. gov't bills Trump for the damage he's done to our reputation

A) I don't think you should be able to jail Trump for not officially disclosing the fact that he (almost certainly) pays a capital gains rate on his promotional interests in real estate (since he's a real estate developer and that's how he makes his money)?
B) Taking jwar's "even if he wasn't being sarcastic" point: Encouraging a foreign power to actively commit espionage is more or less the dictionary definition of treason, whether you like the person or not.

Re: POTUS election? WTF? #betterthananyTVshowever
The problem is that even if he's being sarcastic, he's someone who is running for president with no political experience and therefore all we have to go on is his words. If this passes for serious political discourse from the person who could run our country, it's a serious concern.
Conversely, the Clinton camp has been so clueless/tone deaf to the corruption within their own party. If she can't get the youth vote to consolidate and Trump wins, it's all her fault.

True. But do you want to die from natural causes? Or do you want to be evaporated because a moronUglyCasanova wrote:

Hahaha I know exactly what you mean. I thought maybe there was some recording voodoo at play because every goddamn person's saliva clicking is louder than their voice.

Rusty...
I can't tell who you're coming after. Your assertions that you live in the real world (and that, by extension, others don't) confuse me. Pretty sure I represent all of the things you're railing against...but I also live in the real world. Or maybe I just don't acknowledge that there is any such thing. Dunno.

Didn't realize I was going after you or anyone else here. I went off on a tangent due to smooth jazz and the linguist in that clickbait article. Brought up memories I haven't thought about in years. It happens. What do you think I'm railing against, specifically?

Didn't think you're coming after me or anyone in particular, just ideas/approaches.
Don't take it any which way. Just interested to hear you thoughts on 'real' experience. I have a lot of what I consider to be 'real' experiences (by which I mean terrible shit), but I still live in my own head a lot. Sounds like you headed a different way, and it's edifying to hear about.
As far as railing: I mean that you have a lot to say about PC culture and the way that anti-intellectualism might have something to do with politics, the 'real world,' and crafting a kind of identity out of our experiences. Basically, I have no idea where you're coming from because you seem to occupy this kinda libertarian space--not that the label is helpful--and I have no real framework I can use to understand you. A lot of your posts read like isolated bits of a personal manifesto, and I don't have the whole picture.

Lol yeah the saliva click is the sound of good journalism. All of their studios use the same mics to capture it.

There was a car crash outside. Trying to save a few min can cost ya hours... be careful fuzzfrenz & get where ya going in one piece
There's a George Carlin quote (from memory) "Political correctness is fascism masquerading as manners" which is a concise summation of my view toward "PC culture". It is destructive, constrictive, coercive and reductive, fed by fear and contempt. Can elaborate further, no manifesto

OK. I reject PC culture because I like art, comedy and excitement. Challenge. Nuance. Absurdity. Multifaceted (not superficial) diversity. I prefer to view the world without a lens which asserts traits like sex and complexion are deterministic or representative of an individual's character and/or potential. I believe in being a good neighbor and well-mannered MYOB. I'm also not a fan of authoritarianism, bigotry and abuse of power.Invisible Man wrote:Didn't think you're coming after me or anyone in particular, just ideas/approaches.
