that whole etching thread is filled with awesome. I've looked it over but haven't participated because i have little to contribute. Maybe I should leave a comment just in appreciation for all the amazing work.

I've also been really proud of how creative I've made myself cook using tofu and vegetables, creating really hearty dishes.

If you freeze tofu and then make chicken nuggets out of it, it has more of a meat consistency to it.

live-i-evil wrote:I got a ton of good vegan cookbook suggestions if you want them man, my GFs whole fam is vegan and I'm only vegetarian for now but I pretty much cook only vegan. Veganomicon is fucking amazing. Also, look into Butler Soy Curls, you can get them on amazon. Rehydrate them and they got the chicken texture down way better than seitan. I use them to make a pollo verde that will knock your fuckin socks off.

Dude, a Daiya grilled cheese is so fucking good. I'm gonna go make one now :snax:

I'll definitely check those out. Thanks for the info.

AngryGoldfish wrote:As far as the Orange Rockerverb 50, I'd say avoid it unless you've already played one and really dig it. It's not the right sound and feel for Doom and Stoner, IMO. It works, but it's too aggressive and tight. It's Oranges way of tapping into the modern market. I mean, Slipknot use them. Bands like Baroness and Converge also use them, but they have a very different guitar sound and vibe to the traditional Sludge music we're used to. As well, I found the Rockerverb to be quite finicky. It's not a refined machine with a balanced EQ response and gain structure. There are huge leaps in gain depending on where you have the knobs at, which makes for cumbersome tweaking sessions. The reverb is also a little bit crazy. That's just my 2c. I was very disappointed with the amp when I tried it. I was hoping for a higher gain version of a Matamp, but it's nothing like a GT120 or a GT1.

Well, i'm currently playing through an ENGL Screamer which is more Marshally voiced and is pretty tightly voiced. But I've noticed that a LPB-1 just loosens up everything gives it a fuzzier Doom sound, like an antitubescreamer. To be honest, I haven't been playing a whole lot of Stoner/Sludgey stuff but instead i've been playing a but of Blackgazey, Gothic Doom.

And yes, I would love a Dunwich

The LPB-1 is noisy as fuck in certain setups, but I love it. I modded one to not cut so much high end and it sounds awesome with my Soldano but not so much with my 2204

THere is a switch on the back that takes it from meshuggah to fat sloppy doom. My buddy has one and it made a world of difference.

I never looked on the back when I played through them. I wonder what it does exactly. That does make me kinda wanna check them out more since it can change up the character of the amp.

Thanks dude. I'm psyched to try out that Destroyer, shit I'm almost as excited just to see the enclosure haha! Glad to hear you're digging it, thinking I'll feel the same. :thumb:

Ehhh.

I'm trying to be good with my money and already have a 50w head and don't run at its potential. I might just wait a while and see if anything used pops up and I might check out a TH30 again in a month or so, besides they're half the price

Pretty sure he has been endorsed for a couple years now. I think for a while he only "used" the amps on stage, namean? Now, from what I understand, he actually DOES use them.

Whiskey, tried to respond to your PM but I'm tarded/it wont let me
So-

Well, it was the one on top of the one on top of the acoustic cab. We sold it today so it's all good. My gear fund is healthier, tonys keeping the nicer of the two we had here, and the guy that bought it seemed thrilled. So its all good. basically the whole transaction paid for my destroyer. wish I could find more Sunn stuff for cheap like that, I'd have the EGC allready there's a model T in Portland right now for a grand, thinks its a reissue though so I'm not gonna mess with it. I think what you have in your rig right now is pretty fucking badass anyways.

Wife and I went thrift store shopping tonight, came home with this-

It was a pos when intially sold I'm sure, but for $15 i couldn't pass it up. works great and sounds hilarious with all fuzz pedals running into it. Just spitting madness of fuzz. Might be fun to record with. At any rate it can live on my bench and I can use it when I'm messing with pedals or guitars circuits. :yay:

they've got a three song demo downloadable for free on bandcamp and the whole thing is pretty killer. they share a member with a band called deafheaven, which is more black metal and is supposed to be amazing, though i've never heard it. but i think i'm going to check it out now.

Lycus and Deafheaven...two more really good bay area bands.

I blew up my Electric today...maybe I should break down and actually get a bass amp but I wanted to see how the Electric would sound with a Mesa 2x15 bass cab I just picked up. It sounded great for about 15 minutes and then total silence. Still powers up and of the two fuses in the back I could check, I didn't see anything wrong. I'll have to take it in next week.

In more positive news, I get an email from Ed Rembold that my new Openhaus 2013 model should be shipping in a handful of weeks. I'll try to learn how to post a clip and maybe I'll compare it to the Vault and an older Openhaus.

Deafheaven is great. I saw them sometime last year and will be doing so again in a few weeks. But more exciting I am going to be seeing Yob tomorrow night!

And I don't know if you guys have heard of this band before but Lightbearer just released a new album. You can check it out here: http://lightbearer.bandcamp.com/album/silver-tongue-2. The band has a few members from the Fall of Efrafa.
