Sell my 50 watt or 100 watt AOR?
Originally, I was going to keep my 50 because I thought the 100 was much noisier, but when I got the AOR channel on the 50 fixed it turns out to be as noisy as the 100.
50 watt - tubes cook earlier, slightly less volume, theoretically more gain but less headroom, and allegedly a lower bass output
100 watt - costs more to retube, a bit heavier to carry, feels + is louder, more headroom, can give more power to two cabs, more bass power, possibly a bit noisier due to higher volume

Do you plan on eventually joining a band and playing out (keep the 100) or do you mainly just play for fun while focusing on school (keep the 50)?

Oh geez.....
well then....
Sell the 50.
It's better to have the watts and not need them than to eventually need the watts and not have them.

Hmm, I seem to have solved the high noise on the 100w by swapping out the preamp tubes
Looks like I'll be losing the 50
EDIT - Nope, not that solved

Pop quiz hotshots...what's a really gross sounding distortion pedal? Preferably not one that sounds super smooth and scooped, since I've got a tone of stuff that pulls that off. Looking for something kind of unique and nasty sounding, preferably cheap.

I played the deathray when the first Idiotbox Tourbox came through ILF. It does exactly the adjectives you're describing. You should snag it.

+1 to all of those things, but I still maintain that the WMD Geiger Counter is one of the raunchiest things ever. Seen the civilian issues going used for around $120-130, but that's not exactly cheap. Ibanez FZ7? Splatty octave fuzz?

I should clarify, I meant of the non-fuzz and specifically distortion variety. I'm stocked up on dirty fuzzes. Looking for something cheap and nasty to blow some spare cash on.
