I just hate having it sit there. I know I'm not gonna get anywhere close to the money I have in it and I'm cool with that. i just have no idea what I should list it at. $1500 - $1750 range sounds about right though.

I can totally understand that feeling bro. If your cool with $1500-1750 you shouldn't have too much of an issue selling or trading it. I'd definitely like to see you running dual Matamps though.

Me too! Nice to see ya :0)

A really nice idea to build in the future would be some kind of "All boost" like a pedal that had a bunch of different types of boosters all in the same package selectable via a rotary switch with a universal Boost control (and maybe a few other ideas as well). There are a large number of different gain stages you could use for a single stage booster such as:

Inverting/Non-Inverting Op Amp
Mu Amp using JFETs
Gate Biased FET (AMZ Mosfet Boost)
RM (Ge PNP BJT)
LPB (NPN Si BJT)
SHO (MOSFET with another biasing scheme)

The originals do use a 2n2222a and I find it to be a tad noisy when compared to something like a 2n5089 so when I build them for people that's what I tend to use. My own has a 2222 and now I'm wondering if it's socketed because I'd like to swap it out of there but I doubt I'll have the motivation if I need to remove the board to do it.

Soulsonic had a coolass multiboost called the Four Banger that was allegedly awesome. I don't know if he's still in biz but here's the link: http://www.soulsonicfx.com/?page_id=26

Feel like I've been neglectful.

I just finished a 3 day math marathon due to spending time during the semester doing things that don't suck. Won't do that again.
Ok, I will.

Mike, hope adios means only good things for you.

Buy APE BLASTERS!

We're playing a little thing called Music And Art in Wright Park this Saturday. I'm double stoked as Mico De Noche is on the bill, and D used to fucking Rave about that band.

We go on first. (Shhh, it's a secret.)

Really looking forward to the weekend and some time off from school, have way to many things that need doing.
Krosis, you'll be getting your marsh chapel. thats top on the list. feel like a dick about it.

I didn't know Sound city made solid state amps? :p

Where are you working in NC? You should bring the amp, and leave it with me if you decide that you don't like it. Deal? Deal. :thumb:

lol that sounds very fair! I'll be in Asheville, I was actually there for two weeks just now and I'm heading back home today. But i think I'll have to return immediately on monday to punch cat5 cable. I'm not quite sure of the immediate plans. All I know is I need to have it done before mid sept.

Whiskey I'll be careful. it's supposed to already have a run through by a tech with new tubes.

Ive been in asheville before, for like a week on a trip with my dad, suffice to say I dont think I will be visiting again.

Was the Sound City recapped?

In the event it has never been recapped, you should spend the money to recap it and have it fully serviced. Sound Cities are fun heads but usually need work to bring them back up to gig standards. Mostly recapping and replacing a few resistors here and there that have crapped out.

SLK - bummer you are on the other side of the state from me.

Nick - a week is a bit long to visit Asheville unless you are planning on doing a lot of camping/hiking or really like drinking and quirkiness. And weed. Lots and lots of weed.

Nick, thanks for the heads up! It doesn't say it was specifically recapped so I'm assuming it isn't. I figured it would have to get a going over once I get it in anyway. And yea Asheville... it's basically my home away from home... esp in the last4 years I've probably spent easily a year or a year and a half up there in different spurts working on various bullshit for my company and the owner of the company.

shame I can't even get a dong pull by any NC doombros. :(

the only thing that's good for me is while I'm sitting in my hotel room I get a ton of painting done and spend a ton of time to seek out deals... like the sound city there. or the Ampeg SS140 + Krank Krankenstein 412 at a pawn shop down from where we were working, Peavey musician 400 + Kustom III 215.

Hate weed, don't care about drinking, piss on quirkiness.

We were checking out various properties he was considering buying to build a house on but nothing caught his attention enough to buy.
