It will hurt your inside cred. With that said, I really love the dTape on the Timeline and I get why you really want the Capistan.

The El Capistan is way better than the dTape on the Timeline IMO. It has a really nice layout for performance control and the sound-on-sound is awesome, i'd recommend it to anybody, cred doesn't mean shit when you've got fuckin' saturated infinite tape looping. Stick an ILF sticker over the logo - BAM, cred restored.
It would be a lot different to the Meet Maude tonally, i've never really liked analog delays so it worked for me but if you like yours now the El Cap might seem a little stale in comparison :idk:

also nobody judge but I REALLY WANT ONE OF THESE
7 string, 26.5" scale, all black, no unnecessary features, no lame inlays or glittery binding

Honestly, I wouldn't want to sell Maude. And I don't need another delay at the moment. But that sound on sound mode is what really got me. I want the pedal for that, and then I would buy the favorite switch and keep Maude, so I'd have 2 different delays and the tape looping available at my feet. And the el cap has a reverb built in so I could have some light verb on the delay preset.

When I started that paragraph I was trying to say I didn't need it, but halfway through I convinced myself I did.

I'll probably keep my eye out for a used one that I can impulse buy.

My 3 pedal priorities right now are an Accountant, a Driving Notion to replace the one I had to sell a while back, and a DBA reverb, so it'll be a while before the el cap is realistic.

Damn, that is sick. Pickup selector ruins it a bit for me though. Looks tacked on and strangely angled. :idk:

Yep, beautiful guitar, and that's the only thing I saw wrong with it. The angle doesn't bother me so much as the rectangular plate.

That pickup selector didn't really bother me until you guys mentioned it.

Much of TK Smith's work is custom. So, he'll probably build however you want it.

That selector plate makes me think of the old Hofner bass's.

Well, TK Smith likes to stick pretty close to the Bigsby aesthetic and those selector switches are fairly traditional.

I guess it might look a little nicer with a Bakelite plate instead of that metal one though.
