I'm not learning to "play along" to anything with these exercises, too, and I've been neglecting my Blues You Can Use book. Gah damnit I'm fail.

I think that the problem more often than not is that I don't feel like I'm improving, even if all this practice is helping.

Have you filed a claim? Banks tend to be good about getting your money back, the downside is that it usually takes 1-2 months. They may give you a partial credit though while it's being resolved.

Try a sell and buyback with somebody? Sell a pedal with the condition that you'd be buying it back in a month or something. Kinda a loan with collateral. I've seen one or two people do it on here. I'd do it but I'm broke too until next payday.
