Is it conceptually possible for Torche to NOT rule? Fucking love that band. They are so much fun.
When they toured with HOF and Kylesa their set was pretty fucking bland. I was super bummed and almost never saw them again after that.

on the converge tour they killed. Most fun I've had at a show in a while and I've seen some good ones this past year.
Uncle acid & the deadbeats might not be "doom" but they kick ass.

My brother has been vegan for like 12 years now and constantly tries to get me to eat vegan cheeses. Don;t believe the hype, If you are a fat dude that loves cheese like me, you can tell the difference.
You can tell the difference, but it is still good. I love real cheese too, but after a while of being on this I'm used to it and really don't miss anything. I started eating vegan in Sept on my 34th birthday and by Jan 1st my weight had dropped from 250 to 218 and I felt a lot better. My cholesterol came down a shit ton too. All of that with a diet change, I think I might have ran once or twice during that time.
Killer! I actually love vegan eats. I live 10 minutes from Vegan treats- a vegan bakery.... Holy shit its good. I also Love seitan enough to make my own. I lived with my brother throughout college and we shared food 80% of the time, so i can eat the lifetsyle and really enjoy it... but man. I have yet to find a vegan cheese that doesn;t make me gag. the cheddar just seems to me like they took dorito powder and rolled it in play dough

The bassist in my old band is vegan and showed me all kinds of vegan foods that are good. I bought some Seitan a while back but I accidentally left it out and it went bad before we got to try it. There is a book called Happy Herbivore that has a ton of great recipes in it (tons of sweets) that are really healthy. Black Bean burgers FTW.
Man, that thing looks awesome. I've got two Revelations so it kinda makes that pedal really redundant but fuck, I want it anyway.
I got the pickups for my LP in today. I bought a Duncan Distortion off of here for the neck and I pulled a Duncan Designed HB-102 (based on the Jazz model) off of a Stephen Carpenter signature guitar that I smashed at a show a few years ago for the neck. Now all I'm waiting on are the pots to come in and I will finally have those shitty EMGs out of there. Well, I can't say they are shitty. They still sound pretty good in that guitar, I'm just tired of active pickups and want something a little lower gain.

Renting sucks. No doom for me tonight.... Foot of snow outside, everything is dead , empty and cold, perfect time for huge riffs.

that show is here on sunday and i'm really excited. however, why is no one mentioning enslaved? i'm most excited about them, although pallbearer is pretty close. but they're the headliner of the tour and such an awesome band. weird that no one here seems to care that much.
Honestly, I just haven't heard their stuff.

Glad you brought it up. time to hit up spotify and give them a listen.
I think mardraum is my favorite album. Although they have a bunch of killer stuff. They were really pioneers of blending psychedelic pink Floyd kind of stuff with black/Viking metal. Really interesting band. And, most importantly, the two founding members met at a fishing competition in Norway when they were teenagers, which I think is just incredibly awesome.

I thought this should go here... Austin guy selling an EHX English Muffin on CL and he has it on top of the Dopesmoker LP...

Torche fucking crushed it that tour. As did Kvelertak. I sorta dug Whips/Chains when they grooved but when they got all speedy it kinda blurred together.

Been selling some gear and been earning lots of Overtime pay (busy period at work). Planning on buying a nice new amp.
I'm tossing between an Orange OR50 or a Rockerverb 50. I've heard that the ORs take pedals a bit better though.

Really, really wish I had gear funds right now. These are supremely badass.

Between the two I would go with the Rockerverb, unless you get all your dirt from pedals. I would look at the OD100 which is a two channel OR50 style amp that may be a good compromise between the two.

Kind of limited with my options and I suspect that the new models will be way overpriced for a while. I use lots of Verb/Delay, but i'm not
really that fussed how how I get my dirt, pedals are way more fun but amp gain is more convenient. Looks like i'll be heading to a guitar store in a week or two.
Obviously Rockerverbs are more likely to get this:

All the newer Rockerverbs I played had a really tight distortion that sounded more like Meshuggah than anything doom or stoner. Didn't try to run any pedals into it though. For the price you are gonna pay for one of those you could get a JCM800 or something that sounds way better.
